I sat at my computer, eyes drifining to the program I'd drawn up from nothing. Someone was tracking my connection, trying to find me, and to find who I was talking to. They were about to get a hit in china and another in london, fools all of them.
Maybe I should start at the beginning. I'm what some would call a metahuman, most would call me a mutant. At the snap of my fingers a small flash of flame will appear where I want it. Some might think this is not much, but it was useful, and enought to catch someones attention. Actually a whole group, a whole division of someones, just my luck. They're called the abnormal and supernatural research and tracking division, ASRTD for short. A division of the government that's black, as in black even for black.
What a mess some would say but oh well, I had them running around the world day and night looking for ghosts, they rely too much on digital traces than their own eyes.
"Whats up Kris, I know its been a while since I last contacted you," I leaned forward so she could see me through the web cam more clearly, "I've been on the move, they're making my life a hell, I'm thinking of taking the fight to th...."
Suddenly my computer was buzzing and flashing warnings, perimeter breaches. I was in an abandoned factory, right in the middle of it. My fingers where a blur, "Crap," I brought up the Camera's, Swat, they'd gotten word out to the locals. And frankly the locals were smart enough to take tips and do a little leg work.
Lights flashed through the windows and I stood up and gave the desk I was doing a good kick, flipping it over just as they smashed in through the windows. I grabbed the gernade taped under the desk and pulled the pin, counting to three to cook it just before I tossed it over. Smoke, fire, screams met from the outcome. And I rose like the reaper, 9mm snapping to and fro, blood flew, people died, I was killer, had been for a while. Soon I was down to my sword as I dashed from cover to cover. But in the end, no matter How good I was, I couldn't stop the dart, shot from a sniper across the street. Blurred vision, murky voices and then dark.
