Introduction

The year is 1243 on the Imperial Calendar, and an Empire has just ended one of its wars and made allies with its neighboring nations, the land of the High Elves and The Dwarves. They have also signed a peace treaty with the Wood Elves, though the treaty will only last as long as no humans damage the Wood Elves home forest, though there is still a great amount of distrust between the two races. A new war is about to begin though. The alliance had been made after Orcs and other races had entered the lands of all kingdoms from the mountains, pillaging human villages, attacking the High Elf great cities, collapsing Dwarf mines, and tearing apart the Wood Elves forests. Deciding to stop their fighting for a common cause, the races have allied together to fight the Orcs away from their lands. Orcs are not the only threat to the civilized races, as a more evil race has descended from the frozen wastes in the north: Demons. The long seals that had been laid by a race even more ancient than the elves has broken in places, allowing demons to get a foothold in the Material World. Worse, the demons had been gathering their troops and planning for an invasion for some time, readying to take the lands that once belonged to them back from the mortal races. A great war is about to befall everything on the world, and one thing is for certain. No matter who wins, Hero's will have been made and much blood will be spilt before this war is over.

Races

There are only a few races to choose from, and each will have their advantages and disadvantages. They shall be clearly listed in each description. I shall only describe the demons as I am sure you know what the other races are.

Mortals

Humans:

Advantages: Only Race that uses Holy Knights (Powerful demon Hunters), Most adaptable in environments, have the most powerful Heavy Calvary (Knights Panther.)

Disadvantages: Shortest natural lifespan (90 Years), Other than Clerics and Fighters, is usually less skilled in classes of warfare than other races.

High Elves:

Advantages: Only race to have Warlocks (More powerful Wizards), has some of the greatest magic’s, rivaling that of the Demons, longest natural lifespan (1000 years).

Disadvantages: Is frailer than most other races (Bones broken easier), limited numbers (Only 5 people will be allowed to be High Elves).

Wood Elves:

Advantages: Best shot of any races (Can hit almost any target with a bow, though no instant-kill hits), Second longest natural lifespan (750 years), are allies with most forest spirits.

Disadvantages: High distrust with non-forest dwelling races, greater limited numbers (Only 3 people will be allowed to be Wood Elves).

Dwarves:

Advantages: Greatest and Toughest Fighters, Can make powerful Runes; though the more skilled Runesmiths have passed on, forge the best mortal armors, High magic resistance, Long Lifes (350 years).

Disadvantages: Short in size, slow in traveling large areas, have a great greed for gems and gold, very little skill in ranged combat (except war machine workers, which won’t be controlled by any one person).

Pillaging Races:

Orcs:

Advantages: Great fighters and high strength (can move war machines faster and lift greater weights), Great Amounts of them (player can control either one powerful Orc or 3 Weaker ones at once), High natural magic resistance (Though higher level spells will still get through), 140 year lifes.

Disadvantages: Known to fight among themselves, not the most courageous when alone (Ignore this you chose to be one powerful character), lack of any permanent allies.

Minotaur:

Advantages: Highest Strength (Can lift up to 300 pounds), have the most powerful non-magical weapons (Can cleave any low mortal in two with one blow), Highest Endurance of Pillaging forces (Have been known to survive loss of limbs and scores of wounds that would slay a mortal man), 75 year Lives.

Disadvantages: Very Limited Numbers (Only 3 people will be able to play as them), are only tolerated by Orcs, Slow reflexes (though good sprinters), Large (Have trouble fitting in spots most people could easily fit in).

Demon Races:

Highborn:

Highborns are among, as you could guess, the highest ranking demons in the underworld. They have spent many years to keep such a rank, and they have such gained great skill in fighting and ‘ Underworld diplomacy’. These demons look mostly like Elves except for a few big differences. First off, Highborns usually have scales, many horns covering their bodies, or some other feature elves would never have. Second, these demons have more muscle packed on them than elves, easily discovered when they lift heavier weights. Finally, their lack of any magical talent easily gives away the fact that they have no elven heritage.

Advantages: Hold great power in the underworld (Access to better equipment), the best Fighters in existence (Longest known swordfight against a Highborn was against an Orc Warboss and lasted for about 3 minutes before the Orc was slain), Highest Magic Resistance.

Disadvantages: Have no magical abilities at all, can only spend limited time on the material plane (Start to weaken if they stay on the material plane for more than a week at a time.), are constantly assassination targets in the underworld (For gain of the assassinator).

‘Devil’ demons:

‘Devil’ Demons are demons that are lower in rank than elementals and Highborns, but still hold much rank over imps and other slave demons. ‘Devil’ demons have long tails, usually black, that end in a spade-like shape. They also have two small black horns growing out of their foreheads. ‘Devil’ demons could also pass off as a human quite easily by withdrawing their long, thin tail and horns. There have been instances of ‘Devil’ demons leaving the underworld to live among humans, though usually this is to escape crimes they committed in the underworld. However, there are a few that have developed human emotions, and have chosen to live with humans as companions throughout their demon lives. Usually, if they choose to do so, the fact that they are demons is not given away until they have children, who are born as demons like them, though also share their human emotions.

Advantages: Have the ability of flight, can be skilled above average in most classes, can assume human form, tail (allows them to hold additional things).

Disadvantages: Have been known to show human emotions if disguised as humans too long (Thus, up to 2 ‘Devil’ demons can be good), never master any classes, only partial skill in non-illusion spells.

Elemental Demons:

Elemental Demons are just Demons that have mastery over certain elements. However, this comes at a price. They are always highly vulnerable to their oppossite element, and they have a low physical endurance, which is only prevented from being their downfall due to their high speed.

Advantages: Best spell-casters in their type of element, highly resistant to their type of Element, High speed.

Disadvantages: Endurance of a High Elf (Thus, more easily injured), weak against their opposite element, can only specialize as fighters and spell-casters.

Monstrous Demons:

Monstrous Demons are Normal demons except they are gifted by great size, strength, and Resilience. They are usually used as Guards for Highborns and other High Ranking demons because of this. Monstrous Demons are among the best Seige Demons, as they can bash open gates easily and scale taller sections of the walls without ladders.

Advantages: Highest Strength of any other race (500+ weight lifting), greatest immunity to mundane weapons (though magical ones effect them as normal), High resistance to Ice Magic, and thunder magic heal them.

Disadvantages: Extremely limited numbers (only 2 people can play as one), very large (Can barely fit through anything shorter than 12 feet), only skilled as fighters.

((No jokes about 'Devil' Demons please...))

Classes

Fighter: Fighters are skileld warriors that have trained to excell in close-combat. Be it Sword, Axe, or Pole-Arm, Fighters are skilled enemies and can be deadly to their oppossition.

Races Allowed: All.
Special Rules:
Heavy Armor: Fighters can wear heavier armor than most people and still fight with little penalties. As such, Fighters can wear heavier armors, though they are slowed by it(Unless on steed)

Blocking: Fighters are much better at blocking than your average warrior. As such, they can use shields more effectively to block enemy attacks, though all but Fighter masters must focus on Blocking or Fighting at a time, as it is hard to strike back at an enemy when they are constantly striking at you with an axe.(Note: Attacks by Minotaurs/Monstrous Demons cannot be blocked this way, as they are simply too strong! And only said races can parry the other races blows)

Skill Levels:
-Novice (Must be 14 or older)
-Skilled (Must be 19 or older, Highest a weaker Orc can be skilled)
-Highly Skilled ( be 27 or older, Highest a 'Devil' Demon Can be skilled)
-Master (Must be 45 or Older)

Wizard:
Races Allowed: Human, High Elf, Wood Elf, Dwarf, Orc, Devil Demon, Elemental Demon
Special Rules:
Winds of Magic: Wizards can tune into the winds of Magic, and thus can use magical spells against their enemies. However, it takes great time to truely be a master Wizard, so rank will determine your most powerful Spells.

Enchanting: Wizards can temporarily(Time depends on skill level) enchant Items to be magical, and thus do more damage to enemies. Wizards may enchant 1 Item per skill level at a time.

Skill Levels:
Apprentice: ((Must be 14 or older)), Only lowest level spells, enchantments last only minutes.
Shaman: ((Must be 20 or older)), Slightly more powerful Spells, enchantments can last for up to a half hour.
Wizard: ((Must be 30 or older, Highest 'Devil' Demon can get)), has access to SOME higher level spells, enchantments can last up to an hour.
Grand Wizard: ((Must be 50 or older, Highest Human can get))
, Has acess to Multiple High level spells, enchantments can last up to 2 hours.
Master Wizard: ((Must be 80 or older)), Highest Magic Caster, can cast spells of greater power, however, each spell drains some of his energy. Can enchant up to 4 hours.
((Note, no wizards can be skilled in combat.))

Warlock:
Races Allowed: High Elf
Special Rules:
Greater Control: Warlocks have an even greater control of the winds of magic than a normal wizard, as such, they can cast spells with less negative effects. However, they only know limited amount of spells, as they put great effort into using the spells they already know without special materials.

Enchanting: Warlocks can enchant Items for up to a day, and can enchant up to 7 Items.

Skill Level:
Warlock: Must be 130 or older.

Knights Panther:
Races Allowed: Humans
Special Rules:
Knights Panther: Knights Panther are among the bravest and most skilled human fighters. As such, they are always counted as Highly Skilled Fighters. Also, they are rarely known to flee from the enemy. As a consequence, they will never stop fighting until either they are dead, all the enemies are dead, or the enemies have fled.

Skill Level:
Knights Panther: (Must be age 28 or older, use Highly Skilled/Master Fighter Skills.)

Archer:
Races Allowed: All but Minotoaurs and Elemental Demons.
Special Rules:
Archery: Archers are skilled with ranged weapons, so they are obviously more suited for ranged combat. Archers can aim well with their bows/crossbows/whatever they use, so they are usually held in the rear. They also wear light armor so they can shoot unaffected and flee if the enemy gets too close. Archers have only skill with Daggers for Close Combat.

Deadly Shot: Grand Master Archers can shoot their bows in a way that is deadly to most creatures. When attacking an enemy and given enough time, they can pin-point a vital location and kill the enemy in one shot. However, this skill is hard to master, and constantly the shot won't be fatal(Doesn't Work on Highborns).

Skill Level:
Novice: (Must be 15 or older)
Skilled: (Must be 18 or older, highest Orc can be)
Highly Skilled: (Must be 24 or older, highest all other races but Elves can get)
Master: (Must be 40 or Older)
Grand Master: (Must be 65 or older, woodelf only)

Ranger:
Races Allowed: Wood Elfs
Special Rules:
Stealth: Rangers are skilled in hiding while they shoot, able to ambush their enemies easily. As such, rangers are rarely detected until they either fire, or choose to be detected.

Skilled Shots: Rangers Count as either Highly Skilled or Master Archers.

Skill Level:
Ranger: (Must be 36 or Older)
Master Ranger: (Must be 60 or older)

Holy Knight:
Races Allowed: Human
Special Rules:
Holy: Holy Knights are, of course, holy. As such, they can harm demons much easier than normal warriors. Holy Knights always count as having enchanted weapons when facing demons.

Skilled: Holy Knights are Masters of fighting, as such, they are always counted as Master fighters. However, the only weapon they have mastered is the Sword, so they may only use swords effectively.

Skill Levels:
Holy Knight: (Must be 45 or older)

Berzerker:
Races Allowed: Orc, Human, Minotaur
Special Rules:
Blood-Lust: When bezerkers start fighting, they won't stop until all their enemies(and sometimes even a few allies) are dead. As such, berzerkers will never flee, or will they stop their weapons mid-swing.

Steady Path: When a Berzerker starts moving, it's hard to stop them. As such, Berzerkers will ignore almost all pain, and will fight even after losing an arm or a leg, not backing down.

Skill Levels:
Berzerker: (Must be 20 or older)

Highborn Master:
Races Allowed: Highborns
Special Rules:
Greatest Masters: Highborns have all the skill of a Master fighter, though they may fight with two weapons at one time, using one weapon to block enemy moves and the other to strike against the enemy.(Note: Attacks by Minotaurs cannot be blocked this way, as they are simply too strong!)

Skill Level:
Highborn Master: ((Must be 300 or older!!!))

Elemental Magician:
Races Allowed: High Elves, Elemental demons.
Special Rules:
Master of the element: Elemental Wizards control magic of a certain element, and are highly skilled with that magic alone. Due to this, Elemental wizards become higher levels quicker, though they only know magic for their elements. Also, their elemental magic is more powerful than when a normal wizard casts it.

Skill Levels:
Apprentice: ((Must be 14 or older))
Shaman: ((Must be 20 or older))
Wizard: ((Must be 30 or older, Highest High Elf))
Grand Wizard: ((Must be 50 or older))
Master Wizard: ((Must be 80 or older))
((Note, no elemental Wizards can be skilled in combat.))

Alright this sounds like it would be cool.

A question: Can you be any race
Another question: how can you separate the different class lvls? What difference is there?

Race: Yes, any race you wish. The limit is so that there is no RP full of 100 Elf players and one Demon, or 50 Orcs and 2 Dwarves, etc.

EDIT: You can also have multiple profiles, though only ever one of each race that's limited (So, unlimited no-limit races, up to one of the Elves, Good 'Devil' demons, etc).

Separate: Deals with skill level and abilities. A novice is low level training (What you might expect after a few weeks / months training), and usually haven't seen much (If any) combat. This eventually goes up to things like Master, which are like the characters you tend to see in Hollywood who are, for a lack of better terms, 'one-man armies'. Age limit is to make a little sense (Though can be revoked if given good reason [Like the Inigo Montoya excuse]). How often do you expect a Medieval army to be made up of 20 Master Swordsmen who can duel with the devil.... where not one of them is above the age of 18? xP

ahh... I'm very close to joining, but I have one question: since apparently some demons are interbreeding with material inhabitants, where are the half-breed possibilities? And how would those affect classes?

((Based partially off it.

Profile for Demons is fine, just remember that for all the things Demon, Minotaur, or Orc, most are either Neutral or Evil [some are good]. Oppossite goes for other races. Though good demons and bad elves are fine. ))

((About half breeds:

Really, REALLY tempted not to go into it. Demons usually see themselves above Human, and it has so far been rare for most Demons [Other then 'Devil'] to be seen on the surface for long periods.

If you want a half-breed, make sense of it. A monstrous demon is unlikely to be born from a human for good reason (Imagine the odds of a mother even walking with something like that inside her), a Dwarf is unlikely to take in a Child that looks like a pointy-eared elf with scales, etc.

What I'm saying is, if you can, don't. If you must, make it reasonable.

EDIT: Acception is Half-Elfs, as they are common in almost every breed of Fantasy, and this thing already isn't the most original))

The was a crunching sound as Drognar and a half dozen of his tribe members walked down the snowy mountain path. Their breath became visible in the cold of the mountain, and the orcs were wet from the waist down.

The game had been poor the past season, and the tribe was reaching further and further out to supply itself with food. If no animals were found soon, the tribe would either have to move, or resort to sacking the nearest town.

With the Orcs in the camps argueing over the lack of either enough food or a fight over the past few days, Drognar doubted the first option would bode well with the tribe.

"Boss!" The nearest orc called out in their native tounge. Turning, Drognar saw him gesturing toward the snow.

"Tracks, boss. They appear to be hu-"

"I can see well enough what they are." Drognar simply stated. He disliked how the other Orcs tended to think they needed to explain things to him. Though dragging the attention to the tracks led him to realize two things.

One, there were Humans nearby. Humans normally meant shelter, food, and supplies. However, they were not often to travel this close to orc lands, unless for survival. Which meant they had the same problem as the Orcs, a desperate need for food. This could also, however, mean they were weak, and would be easy picking for the tribe.

"You!" He shouted, pointing to the furthest back Orc. "Go to the tribe, and tell them to send the warriors. We'll be eating Human by the rise of the moon!"

((Very, VERY long post.))

what might have been a hundred fields away from Drognar, Maref lead his sizeable tribe deeper into the forests. They had struck an elven supply train ealier, which was headed for the nearby elf city of ShimmerWind. Maref was a clever orc, and had the wagons not destroyed, but kept in shape. Sure, the elven horses were slaughtered and eaten, but the large rhino-like beast of burden, Slugs, took over.

A banner carrier walked up to Maref, "My cheiften, the men complain of being this deep into the forests, they bicker and are wary of the slightest brease. The elves could come from anywhere cheiften!" The cowardly banner carrier was a hunched over orc, a shortsword in his hand, a pole in the other. Attached to the pole was a minotaur skull, with many arrows and spearheads sticking out of it. "Relax warrior, the wolves will smell the elves coming before they even draw close enough to notch an arrow..." U'ruk spoke up, "If'n they fire on us, we'll just give them back double!"

The banner carrier, his morale boosted, moved back to the front where he belonged. The wolves lifted their heads in the air, sniffing into the wind. A growl erupted from them, swords, axes, and shields were readied, arrows and bows where notched. the Slugs snorted and the wolves leaches where lightened. The hairs on the back of maref's neck tingled, not a good sign for a spellcaster... He rose his cheiften's staff high, a skull wedged into the tip of it, the very skull of the previous cheiften. a black flame erupted from both eyes, a light fog spewed out of the open mouth.

U'ruk rised his crossbow, pointing it wildly into the trees, he'd thought with the range of his crossbow, he wouldn't need to be this close in a battle! He hunched down slightly, shivvering in his furs, his trembleing finger over the trigger of his weapon. Lunk just drooled a bit and gripped his sword. "Me get smush squishes now?" he asked Maref, "Yes Lunk, you'll get to kill them very soon..." Lunk shook with excitment, gripped his sword tighter, and readied his shield.

Name: Iphran Gladius (will change if needed)
Age: 172
Race: Wood Elf
Appearance: 5'8", nicely tanned, Short golden-brown hair.
Class: Ranger
Class Level: Master Ranger
Weapons: Composite Longbow, hand-and-a-half elven blade.
Armor: Elvin Ringmail armour, Elfin cloak, elfin boots.
Short Bio: The older brother of Khain, he set out after him to ensure his safe passage, to ease the worries of the rest of the family. He often jokes about the younger brother being the successor, and is indeed a little jealous of the fact, but he protects his brother with a zeal unmatched.

ok, as I've said, Mirku gets the say about the whole sibling fling, and of course Talonmaster Zso chooses if he's accepted or not at all.))

((Maybe so, but making another thread right now isn't really needed. If more people start to ask to join, I'll create a new thread.))

((Looks well enough. I see no reason myself why I shouldn't allow it. Will wait until Mirku confirms though incase you need to make changes.))
