This is a nice show of Basitin society. Strength (as a general term) seems to be valued enough to be all you need to get through society. Wonder where Keith is trying to get to... And I know how Natani feels, literally seeing over the heads of everyone.

I wouldn't say there's any indecation of the Bastin giving special value to strength. By the soldier mantioning rank, it might be a martial society, but otherwise this sounds like a rutine dual.

Okay, my first reaction: just how many 'brothers' does Keith HAVE?? Perhaps the term is simply a term of association in Bastin society, like 'comrade' for Russian...

As for the rest... Natani's long hair looks GOOD in that first panel! I do hope that she has enough sense to REALLY stay out of whatever is to come, though... I get the feeling that she may be committing a faux pax soon on Keith's behalf. Remember that she cant understand anything written in {}s! ^.^;; Arent language barriers annoying?

Where do you think he's going, anyway...? My bet is that he's either heading to his old home, to see an old friend, or perhaps to try and find who really killed his parents... and let them know that he's back.

The Amish use the term cousin for every other non-related Amish... although, they may all actually be related enough to count as cousin o.o I've seen a few people around here that would tower over the average basitin at least by half their height.

My guess is that this guard underestimate all the experience that Keith got while he was on Keidran and on human territory. Human obviously think that everything that look like a keidran that doesn't have master is a target practice or some sadic entertainment. He probably got his share of fight with Keidran as well.

Eh well that's not good, I'm sure the guard is underestimating Keith far too much. Poor Natani is confused again, hopefully she'll get a break and not end up getting into trouble for something she hardly understands.

I wish I were tri-lingual like keith. oh well.

I just want this "challenge" to be something stupid soooooo bad. Like an ale chug, or thumb wrestling. :D

Ale Chugging is not stupid, it's...well... I guess not civil, but at least it's not a bloody fight to the DEATH.


Also, I tried learning Spanish, and.... uh.... I hate new languages...
