This role-play is based in a world with Anthros, Humans, and Half-Breeds. What follows is the world’s history, a description of each race and how they see the other races. It is long and detailed, but if you want to join please read it all. Also I want to limit this to no more than 10 people. The focus of this is not combat, but hey there's gonna be some fightin! Good luck. You're gonna need it.

The world of Katima has two dominant species. The Humans and the Anthros have lived in competition since they both existed. As time passed, they warred and made peace at various times. Whether for land, religion, or supplies the two races have fought for control both on the field of battle and in the diplomatic game. Once muskets and fire arms were invented, this on and off war intensified as both side rushed for supplies. This began the Long War. During this time there were two major conflicts, though preceding them smaller battles and skirmishes were fought.
About 200 years ago there was a Great War. The Human took advantage of their new weapon, the tank, and attacked the Anthros. In the initial stages of the fighting, the Humans made great gains, but the lines stabilized within weeks and a trench war began. The Anthros were physically stronger, but the human’s better weapons and armor helped balance the war.
In the end, the Treaty of Khariff gave the Humans the land they had conquered, but rules were established governing the size of each respective race’s armies, and trade agreements were passed. A historic moment occurred when Human ambassador Thomas Drake declared “There would be peace in this time.” Yet this was no to be.
Less then fifty years later, increasing pressure grew on the governments. Even though they had both agreed to limit their armies and weapons stockpiles, a covert arms race began. Times went well for both sides. A spike in interracial marriage and children occurred. These people had existed and lived for centuries, but they had little to do involving the affairs of the world. They had not fought especially hard for one side or the other, nor had they abandoned the Great War.
Today, it is still unsure exactly how it happened, but the Second War began. Both sides claim the other started it, but the truth is unknown. This technology was fought with bigger tanks, better planes, and even more efficient guns. This time, the Anthros had the advantage. They were not limited by their lack of technology and physically, they still beat their Human counterparts. This was, the Second War, changed Katima forever. Though it was much more mobile and land was captured and lost by the mile, it seemed to drag on for its five years. Men, Anthros, and machines were poured into the fighting. The end result was loss for Humanity. With one exception their capitals lay in ruins, their armies defeated, and the civilians exhausted of this bloodbath.
One city-state, Thyrmopolae, resisted. They brokered peace, though it was bittersweet. The Anthros gained mastery over Humanity. All Humans not in Thyrmopolae were enslaved to the Anthro populace. The Governor sold out his race to save his citizens. Though most of the enslaved despised him, they followed his edict. Better, they though, to live on their knees then die on them. Thus, the Long War ended.
One hundred years later, the Thyrmopolae fell. A Half-Breed betrayed the city-state and its puppet government was replaced with a full Anthro one. AS a result a massive attempted uprising occurred, but the salves were quickly and brutally put down. Over a period of seventy years we have arrived at this date.
Because there was no longer a need for weapons, the weapons technology is extremely similar to what we have in the real world. In fact, the same companies exist there, creating the same weapons. However, their tracking technology is much greater and all Human salves are implanted with a sub-dermal tracking chip. The Anthro police forces are well trained and are almost an army in their own right. Tazers, stun batons, and shock collars are all common items used to deal with criminals.
Even though few escape, there is a small free Human populace that lives in the slums and sewers of major cities. Their life is pitiful and harsh, yet they are determined no only to survive, but retake the world. The Slaves’ live vary, some serve harsh master who care not for their property, while others would willingly die to defend their master. The Anthros live a life like we do, only every family has at least one slave. The Half-Breeds though live a difficult life. They are recognized by the Anthro Government, but it is difficult to find acceptance by either race. Humans generally look on them as elevated by luck of their parentage. Anthros typically see them indifferently. Despite his they have endured and continue to exist despite their status as near outcasts.

Next is a description of each race followed by an in-game type of description of their relations with other races.

Humans - Human appearances vary widely. Skin tones from near black to near translucence exist, eye and hair run the gamut as well. Typically Human males are about 5’11” and females are typically 5’7”. While Humans are neither exceptionally strong nor fast, they are usually more innovative and quick witted than the average Anthro. They live to be about 70 years old.

Tori, a Free Human has this to say about the other races on Katima:

Anthros: They can’t stay on top forever. We got the underground, we got surprise. And when then time comes, we’ll take back what we’re due.

Half-Breeds: These guys gotta be watched. They betrayed us before and they’ll do it again.

Humans have little in the way of technology. Their weapons are either close combat weapons or improvised. There is an increasing number carrying police type firearms taken from their hits. Their “government” is most accurately described as roving gangs. They can and have fought each other before, but most of this infighting is kept to a minimum.

Anthros – Anthros are animal humanoids (basically a Keidran). Just about every land animal has an Anthro to match. Typically predators are the most common, but other species do exist. The average height depends on the species of Anthro. For example a male Tiger Anthro is about 7’1” tall and female Tiger Anthros are about 6’6” tall. Wolf and dog type male Anthros are about 5’9” and females are about 5’9” as well. Other cat types, excluding big hunting cats, average about 5’7” for both genders. All Anthros are at least slightly strong and faster than an average human, and though they are not as intelligent as Humans, they are by no means stupid. They live to be around 65 or so years.

Seath, a wolf Anthro, describes his so called peers:

Humans: When their obedient, they can be useful. But when they get free they only cause problems. Last week they gunned down a Patrol Unit! They need our guidance to evolve any further.

Half-Breeds: I guess they’re all right. They don’t really do much so I can’t say. They are not quite as noble as us, yet they are better than the Humans for sure.

Depending on their job an Anthro might have access to a Patrol (their police force) armory, or they might rely on the shock collar they have for their slave to keep them in line.

Half-Breeds – This race is unique as an average is almost impossible to determine. Depending on the Human and the Anthro, a Half-Breed could be a fur-covered intelligent worker, or a dim witted cat eared servant. Usually they are marginally faster and/or stronger than a Human and are somewhat more intelligent that an Anthro. This comes at a price though, as they typically have shorter life spans, about 45-50 years, then Humans or Anthros.

Nikki, a Half-Fox, explains her views on the other races of Katima:

Humans: As long as they leave me alone, I couldn’t care less. I feel a bit bad for them, seeing how some of their masters treat them, but I can’t do anything.

Anthros: They look down on us, but it’s not too bad. Sure it’s hard to move ahead, but that which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

Half-Breeds have a carefully controlled access to weaponry. Excluding that, they can use most other technology that any other Anthro would use.

Ok now rules
1. Don’t kill off other people characters and avoid controlling them at all costs UNLESS you have their permission. Not to be a rule nazi or anything, but this would include you speaking to them and having them respond, even with facial expressions.
2. Try to keep it in character. If you want to ask about something OOC do it in here. In a dire situation denote the OOC: and either place it at the top or bottom of your post.
3. Keep it mature. Unless its something your character would do (i.e. a free Human taunting Patrol units following him/her) don’t be annoying. Keep the swearing down and if at all possible use alternate words, frag, dang, curses. Basically, I don’t want a cuss fest. You get the idea.
4. I DO realize that you have lives unlike me. While they do claim priority, try to check the boards once a day.
5. Don’t post little one liner responses. This is a forum RP, not a chat RP. You have not quite all the time you want to respond or post. This is kind of like writing a book, so use good-ish grammar and punctuation. I don’t really care if your English is a bit Engrsih or whatever, but if seriously, posts like “He are walking to the stroe he aims the gun and shoots the guy by t3h d00r and yells you died” are not going to cut it
6. And the final rule, Have fun, enjoy the RP.

Yeah my rules are a bit harsh, but some things really irritate me. Yes I know there will be typos, and I will error as well.

For a character to be considered fit for role playing you’ll need to fill out the following forms.

Name: (This is obvious. Preferably there will be a last name and don’t use something
like axekiller123. Now if that’s your character’s nickname denote it in quotes.)

Age: (Again obvious)

Race: (Originally left out by some crazy oversight.)

History: (A biography. I will dare to ask that at least one of us will have both parents
living and no siblings to avenge either. Basically describe how they got where
they are.)

Personality: (Describe their personality.)

Physical description: (Height, weight, eye hair and skin colors. What they wear,
Scars, tattoos, etc all goes here)
Equipment: (List the things they got. Swords, guns, sticks. Tazers are in heavy use by
the Patrol so those are common-ish items.)

I have one final request. Run your character through this test.

for question 1 use the human/humanoid response
There is no magic or psychic power for this RP so use the zero setting for those questions.
A shock collar is a One Very useful item, unless you intend to use a car as a weapon, don’t worry about the vehicle question.

If your score is greater than 20, you’ll need to go back and tweak him/her a little. God-modding sucks.

Okay now, if you actually read all of this, I hope to see you in the RP.

Sounds interesting. I'll join.

Name: Desmond Silas

Age: 25

Race: Human (free)

History: Desmond's parents were five when Thyrmopolae fell. Tristan and Shirley were at Tristan's house playing when it began. Their parents hid them deep in a root cellar in the once peaceful outskirst of Thyrmopolae. Desmond's grandparents were both killed that day. His parents had a lot of preserved food in that cellar, and because the upper stories had burnt down a couple of days later, no one bothered to look there. They spent a long tunneling towards the swewer. It took them two months of digging, but they did it. They then grew up with the rest of those underground, with a root cellar in a [Insert Megalopolis name here]long abandoned suburb as their home. They had Desmond very late in their lives, the age of 50. They raised Desmond to the best of their abilities in the sealed root cellar. It was now lined with stolen concrete and had a hidden door made of bits of brick taken from damaged parts of the sewer, and burnt wood. When Desmond was 15, Shirley died of old age. His father, who is 75, is still alive, beneath in his old home (now covered with a park, the root cellar had it's above entrance sealed shut years earlier when they moved in, the only way to enter is by the sewer). He tells Desmond that all he wants to live to see is a successful retaking of the city by humans, and maybe even the end of enslavement period. Desmond wants to be one of the people who liberate them. He is very skilled with his rifle, but can't really use anything else. He is an only child, and is of very, VERY old blood, that his father can trace back countless generations. They also had very, VERY old money, untill is was made useless above ground by the Anthros 70 years earlier. He has some gold that his parents managed to recover from the house that he has used in time of great need. The anthros do not know of his location, but they do know of him, but not his name. He has been on several raids against the anthros, and never been caught. He has killed ten anthros in his life, and will kill as many as it takes to earn his freedom. He has never been a slave.

Personality: Desmond is stubborn, but a good guy. He will make the ultimate sacrafice to protect his few friends and his beloved father, but is in no rush to have to do it. He has an average sense of humor, and hates the Anthros with all his heart, but doesn't really care about the haf-breeds. He longs for the times where humans could own computers, play freely in the streets, and live happily without worries of attack.

Physical description: Light brown hair, green eyes, 6' tall. Thin, but enough muscle to pull his own weight. He is fairly fast from running from the cops for so long. He wears a tattered pair of brown shoes, blue jeans, and a red and blue plaid button-up shirt that was his grandfather's. He has a small cut on his arm that he got when he fell in the sewers.

Equipment: Desmond is not a member of any gangs, but does own an old M1 Grand that was in a box in the root cellar, and ten rounds of "real" ammo. He manages to manufacture bullets out of old lipstick containers, and old lead pipes from the dump in a makeshift furnace from his house. He has about a total of 100 makeshift bullets hidden in his "house".

Desmond scored a 17 on the GOD test.

Tell me if anything needs to be changed.

EDIT: I played around with a couple of things because they were out of line with the story now.

I like the looks of this one. I read the rules, the entire post, so I know the rules.

Name: Chrome

Age: 16

Race: Ermine (AKA Stoat) Anthro

History: Chrome was born after the long war, so the way society functions in this day and age is common place to him. He lived with his parents until he was 15. After that, he went away. Not away away, he lives in the same city, but lives on his own. He owns a book store, he has gotten some bad publicity because if a human comes into his shop, he will do business with them. If they have enough money, he will give them what they want. He makes enough to get by. He lives in an apartment, not a nice one, but it has two rooms and a kitchen. Plenty for one person. Even though he his a store owner, he is skilled with two handed firearms and axes. If it comes to it, he can hold his own.

Personality:A truly caring person. But looks out only for himself, and expects others to do the same. He doesn't like society very much, and differentiates himself from it. He likes the finer things in life, but knows he has to work for them. He doesn't have many allies, and is plain cruel to his enemies. He is a bit unbalanced. When he is angry at someone, he will have no guilt in reducing them to a bloody carcus. He tends to help only himself, but can be swayed with the right amount of $, unless it betrays one of the few friends he has. Though he tends to annoy them with his immaturaty. He is naturally immature, but can be serious when he wants to. Such an event has not been documented.

Physical description: Ht: 3"11 midget. Weight:89 lbs eye: Blue, Hair: Grey Skin colour: N/A Attire: Red sweatshirt, jeans, Running shoes.
Large blue stripe on his head. (Basically see avatar)
Equipment: Shotgun, spare shotgun shells, and an axe (not used often)

I think that's it.

Sorry bout the double post.

Name: Dominic Terran Garcia

Age: 19 Years

Race: Human (Free)

History: Dominic was born free to parents in the guerrilla forces. As a result he has been absorbing the Free Human Propaganda since he was born. The cell was not an extremist group and had a main goal of returning the power of Humanity. When Dominic was 10 he began working for the cell. Messenger duties and painting Pro-Human graffiti on walls were his specialties. At age 16 he became an active fighter for the cell. A year after that he was taught a painful lesson. One of his Anthro contacts turned the cell in. The Patrol raid ended the group permanently. Dominic lost contact with his parents, though he does not know their fate. Since that day he has traveled from cell to guerrilla cell. He has only given up finding his parents a month or two ago. Recently he was order to slow his operations down. The leader of the cell is worried that Dominic will be captured or killed. Dominic reluctantly agreed to keep a low profile for a while.

Personality: Dominic tries to be the aloof hero type of person, though his isn’t very good at it. When someone tries to have a good discussion he ruins it often with his pessimistic and somewhat cynical views. Despite that, he really wants someone to talk to, but at the same time he refuses to acknowledge the fact. He is confident, despite his self-mocking attitudes and his idealism and stubbornness cannot be replaced easily. This; however, has put some weight on his shoulders and he takes failure hard. He goes so far to the point of injuring himself for each mistake he made, even of it was outside of his control. Calling him bipolar would be not far from the mark.

Physical Description: Dominic wears the old style military fatigues. Typically he has the sleeves rolled up and the top open, showing whatever color t-shirt he is wearing. To keep his mobility he avoids armor and carrying too much. His weapons he carries are two knives. A K-Bar fighting knife resides on the small of his back is a horizontal sheath and a Black Bear Classic his hidden in his right boot. The rest of his gear is carried in either a black duffel bag or a digital pattern camouflage backpack. He will carry only one or the other, again to keep his mobility, and usually neither.

Dominic doesn’t have an athlete’s body and few who saw him would think he could put up much of a fight. He belies this with a dogged determination and a wiry frame. In a fight he goes for crippling or lethal attacks to keep the fight time and noise to a minimum. He can take more than his share of blows in combat and runs well, but he lacks raw strength. He has a Latino complexion and occasionally throws in the Spanish word, especailly to accent a point.

Equipment: Black Duffel Bag, Digital Pattern Camouflage Back Pack, K-Bar, Black Bear Classic, Boot Sheath, Horizontal Sheath, Boots, Fatigues.

Name: Shane Klaeck
Age: 15
Race: Half-breed (Orange tabby and caucasian)
History: Shane Klaeck was born 15 years ago (Obviously), a child of a street-dweller and an activist, as he is told. His parents were arrested for this behavior, it being looked down upon, and he was an orphan. He did get to see his parents, once or twice, at their respective jails, and It is perhaps for that reason that he doesn't like the slavery of humans, even though his parents were always an abstract factor. He has had a rather stable life, for a foster child. He had one family for 9 years, but both of the parents was deemed liable for having helped free slaves, and that family was deemed unreliable. He was sent to a different foster home, a stricter, less progressive one. The 'father' in this family was a policeman, the 'mother' an extremist politician, but they though that I was 'a good child' and took him as a project, to get him to see 'the truth' about humans. That is, until his grades began to falter at the institute they sent him to. He was a -VERY- intelligent student, but the environment of the home and school stiffled him. He dropped from straight A's to a majority of B's, and that was enough to set his parents off- especially when he got 'chummy' with the family slave. In an act of anger, they threw him out. He's currently still out on the streets. The parents, covering up for throwing him out (Bad for the mother politics), are saying he ran away.

Personality: SHane is a very intelligent kid. He's prone to thinking thing over before he acts, which is a quick process, for him at least, and tends to pull through in precarious situations, but evenwhen somethings are not imminant, he's a very stubborn kid, and pretty self controlled. He doesn't like the slavery of Humans, but what can he do about it, right?

Physical description: He's about 4'9, and not likely to grow any taller, seeming to have reached his limit in height already. His hair and fur (He does have fur) are of the colors of a calico cat, though black is highly pushed back by the colors white and orange. While White and orange mixes everywhere, the clack on his kin concentrates of centers- his knees, chest, elbows and the crown of his head are all black. The rest, though is all a subtle mix of white and orange. His eyes, in a compliment to the orange aroung his eyes, are a yellow-green.Also, his fur is trimmed short and neat, and his hair, though long (Halways down his neck) and wild, seems to be trying to attempt to order itself in a 'gentlemans cut' in vain. He's not too tough- a bit off muscle, not much more- and he has no scars except for a small one on his knee, where he had crashed into a glass coffe table at the age of 7.

Equipment: An uncharged cellphone, his clothes, a laptop, and a stick.

He scored a 7 on the G.O.D test, and most of those points come from me putting him at the 'going through college' type intelligence level.

Oh, and how much would he weigh?

((ok, read through and took the test, finishing with a 17.))

Name: Lohti Callahoun --"Foxtrot"
Age: 24
Race: Foxy anthro
History: Being raised by his father since his mother died of disease, his (litter? How are anthros born anyway?)) family was led by his father, a just man, raised him to be unpredjudiced. He grew up rather intelligent, and a little less athletic but more agile, than other anthros. He is currently out of work.

Personality: He sees humans as furless Anthros, to be treated the same as everyone else. He also knows that if he's not careful, he could end up worse than them. therefore, he tries to help them subtly.

Physical description: He wears a T-shirt and jeans over his orange and white fur, leaving his red hair out at shoulder length. His golden eyes are only disrupted when he wants to wear his shades-- specially made, for his ears are shaped differently than most others-- and that's generally when he wants to look cool or mysterious.

Equipment: His clothes, his shades, a blade and a pistol. He has a shock collar so he may act like a slaveholder in public, then help slaves when out of sight.

((Yeah if anyone wants to they can be his 'Slave'... which would only be in public. Also, what point does the G.O.D. test serve? Are we going to keep the bailities from the test? Because if so he's got heightened senses, partial nightvision, very agile, good at self-defense and can use pretty much everything as a weapon.))

The GOD Test serves to make sure there aren't any uber characters. Typically its not a real problem, but I decided that it couldn't hurt to have the characters run through it. I personally have a tendencey to create super characters, and this was just a way to help other make sure they stayed within the bounds of sanity. AS long as you scored below a 20, the abilites you have apply. Obviously the reverse is true as well.

OK, I just thought of something. Is Thyrmopolae located near an ocean or large body of water? I'm guessing it is, since most major cities are, but was just wondering. It could open up a major dimension in the RP if it is (Pirating of anthro vessils by humans, stuff like that).

Well, I'm not sure about in this world, but historically speaking, Thyrmopolae was a pass between a mountian range and a channel... or sea... I'm unsure about that part.
