I saw this really freakish news article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070113/ap_ ... g_aneurysm
Apparently, some doctor induced a brain anyuerism in a dog to demonstrate medical equipment to some potential buyers.

They killed a dog in a sales demo for medical equipment....wow. Somehow, if someone kills a dog in the demo, I'd look at them funny, ask them angrily "Why the HELL did you do that?!" and then tell them "Uhh, no thanks, sicko".

Killing animals for experiment purposes: understandable.

Killing animals for a sales pitch: At about what point did you think this was a good idea? After your third Mai Tai?

Don't quite agree there but yeah whatever.

now to rant....

This guy deserve to have his license docked. I mean the dog was probably clinically dead once he induced the anyuerism so what was the point? There's no indication that the client bought the device. Are there even result to say if it actually works? Oh wait, apparently it didn't, dog had to put down due to brain damage.....

Okay, I have no problem with animals being used for research, but a sales pitch? That's retarded.

Research animals? Research is what willing humans with compensated or uncaring families/no families (Did I mention "willing") are for. ANIMALS ARE IN MOST CASES MORE CIVILIZED THAN HUMANS! I've said it before, I'll never stop saying it. That's all for now.

Ah well. People and animals die everyday. At least the dog didn't suffer for a long time.

Actually, if I'm reading that article the dog was anesthetized through the whole procedure, so it didn't suffer at all.

And the cause of most of this death is what? Humans, that's what. think about it. Most of the world's problems are caused by humans. Global warming? Humans. War? Humans. Death by disease? Well, actually, that's natural selection, which is nature's way of telling the weak humans who can't survive disease without technology that they (Or to be honest, we, unfortunately for myself) ain't welcome.

Animals fight and kill each other and humans all the time. Or did you not know this? Anyways, this has nothing to do with the OP so PM me or make a new thread to continue this conversation.

Animals may kill eachother all the time...but does that justify killing a perfectly good dog for a sales pitch?
Just because animals die everyday doesn't make it ok to go and kill things for no real reason,...people die everyday, but its wrong to murder. :?

Aren't humans technically animals? Doesn't that make us part of nature? Doesn't that mean that we've been around thousands of years and have earned our rigt to survive on this planet like the rest of them? :roll:

We depend on tech. We can't survive on our own strength, without tools and tech. We haven't earned anything.

Heh, bright eyes, I thought you hated the whatever smiley.

I'd perfer to not touch this with a 50 foot pole. Anyone got a 60 foot? Thank you.

Well, whatever happens, it happens. Sale pitch= A big no-no
Experimentation=Meh, no opinion.
Food=Natural

I have no opinion on the experimentation because there are good points on both sides. We seek knowledge and want to improve our speicies for the better. The sad part is that the the speicies with the experiments going on are unbenifical to that speicies.

In my world, I see only benefits and morals. Nothing else. (By my world means what my eyes can see in this world). If that makes me a horrible person, so be it. If that makes me a good person, Whoopie.

Sadly true but untrue at the same time. Tech has made us weaker, but provides more Opportunities for us to better ourselves. The flesh on our skin is what makes us animals. Our brain, is the tech that gives us an advantage in battle over dominance. Tech is a part of nature. We were born with it.

While depressing as it sounds, War over dominance is infinite. Life itself is War, no matter what you are. Humans aren't responsible for War, just the more intense violence of it. Is a wolf killing a deer for food not considered war over dominence?

Someone's just mad because we're the top predator.
