Ok, I don't know if there's already a thread for this, but has anyone here heard of webcomic artist Jay Naylor? Here's a link to his website. Gotta warn ya though, his comics are of a slightly mature nature, like just about as mature as 2kinds.

Yeah, I read Better Days on and off. It's an okay comic, I've read better, in my opinion. :)

Ya know, the way I found it is a pretty funny story. A buddy of mine is obsessed with him, so for an independant project in computer applications class, he did a power point on Jay Naylor. Now for the really funny part. One of the sotries that my sig link leads to, titled Family Ties, uses the characters Lucy and Fisk. It talks about their first time, not quite the way it happened in the comic, but that would be blantent plaigiarism, now wouldn't it? And the funniest part is, I read the story months ago, before I even saw the Power Point on Naylor.

Pirates politics pirates pirates maybe some sexing up soon pirates. Also, didn't the incest only happen once? And Lucy only wanted it to happen again? But then she got over it? I think? Either way, they're a world away from each other now, which tote* sucks cuz, they're like, the greatest couple in the past hundered years besides trace and flora, and then there's Tedd and Grace from El Goonish Shive. Why is it called that anyway? Was the author really that lazy?

*Tote=Totally

...You know, I had tried to forget about that. Thanks. Oh well, I should know better than to try to forget important things.

I think whats going to happen next it....

Fisk gets hurt, sent to field hospital, sees Nikki again
Through his healing they get to know eachother even more
and then other things happen
that or its going to happen, but he stops, thinking of Lucy or Beth

Jay Naylor is about as dull as they get when it comes to comic authors, tend to go in soapboxing sprees all too often and has a vestigial sense of characterization at best. His artistic style is cookie-cutter and bland at best with every character looking about as generic and barbiedoll-standard as they come.

Jay Naylor definitely isn't a good comic author. However, despite that, it's very forgiveable because his webcomics are little more than bait to lure readers into buying porn of the characters featured in his comics. ...and despite the porn being of poor quality (Yes, I've seen them), it sells, and that's all that mattered for him.

Well, I can't argue with his art style being cookie-cutter and so forth, but I disagree that he's a bad comic artist just because he gets on soapboxes. He's doing a slice-of-life comic, with a furry twist, which means sometimes it's funny, others it's serious, and once in a while just plain bizzare.

...and most of the time, it's totally messed up. It's not just the soapboxing, it's his abysmally poor sense of characterization and culture. As for slice of life, what sort of messed up slice does it need to have to include incest?

*I've seen the porn and oh dear lord, I wished I haven't*
