I read it and read it again, but I still can't believe this appears to have truely happened. While it looks like Euchre finally managed to make Trace see the true purpose of his fight...

I'm afraid to say he payed the ultimate price to do so. With Euchre gone, how will Trace save Flora? And... is Euchre dead, or is he still alive...? And will we finally get to know who and what Euchre actually is/was?

Edit: I only realized this after posting this thread: what if things are even worse? What if Ephemural made a miscalculation by attacking Euchre, and his powers caused her attack to be rebounded against herself/Flora...?

And why do we always end up hoping to get more answers every strip, and instead ending up with only more questions...? :roll:

At least I think we have the answer to one question right now. Of all of the reasons suggested as to why the strip didn't appear yesterday, I would say it didn't do so because... it would have been heartbreaking to make... :cry:

well, we don't know for sure that he's dead. All we saw was some blood... but it is VERY possible that he is dead... it would also heolp if the 'rules' were explained a bit.

and yes, now, how will Trace save Flora?

Yes, things don't look good. But I actually think it's a change for the better as far as the battle goes. Trace still has his powers and now he knows what he wants to use them for... Look out evil [censored] lady! Trace is gonna be pissed!

Well, my two cents.

I don't think Euchre is dead, the blood may be his or not, but I've got a feeling he ain't gone yet. Surely with such powers he knew what to expect.
By-the-by, I think the pain flora's expressing is caused because she and Ephemurai are separating. If you look at the second panel, it seems it's the real flora who's with Trace. So my guess is Euchre's teaching them both a lesson, and now Flora doesn't want to hurt Trace anymore, and she never wanted to hurt Euchre, so I think she's banishing Neutral from her mind. That's the pain, from realization or the struggle.

Still I'm curious who's blood it is, though I think it's only a cliffhanger.

Personally I think Euchre is dead. If you look in the very bottom right, you see in white text, a tiny:

...sister...

There's actually 3 different people that blood could belong to... Euchre (50% chance), Flora/Ephemural (25% chance), and Euchre's friend (25% chance)

What about him, huh? Is he just gonna stand there?

I noticed something else, though, in panel 2...

If Flora is an illusion, then how can she think?

Perhaps Euchre is doing much less than we believe. How can he show illusions of Trace's memories when he wasn't even there?

Remember the subtleseed crystal? Flora said it was used in human marriages to bind two people together. Perhaps Euchre has used the connection created by the crystal to send Flora's soul to Trace. Then the memories that both of them share would be magnified twice over. Also, that would explain how Flora can be thinking in panel 2, because it's actually her.

But, if that really is the case, and the whole thing has been shattered and interrupted (reference to second to last panel), what would happen to Flora's soul if it doesn't get back to her own body?

I think too much... The whole thing's probably a lot simpler than that...

Very interesting and likely hypothesis there, SBMaster86, allow me to build on it:

What if Euchre doesn't use the crystal to send Flora's soul to Trace, instead using it to connect both souls on another plane? (Leaving Trace's soul in his body, and Flora's in hers, that is.)

This way, the 'shattering' of the 'illusion' can be explained in only four ways:

Either Ephemural has broken the link by shattering the crystal (though this is unlikely); or by killing/severly incapacitating either Euchre (who's keeping the link in existance), Trace (though again unlikely: he's targeting Euchre) or Flora herself (though this would be a very stupid and unlikely move... unless it happens accidentally.)

Though, of course, the role of Euchre's friend in all this remains a mystery. Looks like we're going to have to wait untill Monday to be sure... :roll:

Ã’kami, your comment made me think... in the 2nd to last panel, look closely... the connection is being shattered behind her! I think she's stuck on the wrong side of the connection! If she wasn't, wouldn't the crack be in front of her?

Not necessarily, it can be just the background, the world around them, shattering all around them, and we only see the part behind flora.

The crystal is a good option, I didn't think of that, but I believe it's indeed both their souls who are connected, not just the memories of Trace.

About the ...sister... , this does increase the likelihood of Euchre being wounded. I hadn't thought of it that way, but indeed he sees flora as his lil sis, so it is most likely.

well, even if Trace manages to remember who he is and why he wanted his powers (to save Flora), there's still the matter of freeing Flora from Neutral. Didn't he say that there was no way to kill him without killing Flora??? (i'm stupid, so don't blame me!)

Why does everyone keep referring to Ephemural as "him"? I'm pretty sure Ephemural's a chick...

Well, Trace could try to just rip that mask off. I can't think of many other options.

Ephemural is well neither man nor woman
and we have previously discussed
Ephemural had possesion of a man
and a women the old GT
so untill tom decides to tell us if Ephemural actually has its own body
then mabey we can tell if its a guy or girl
