OMG! My first ever attempt at photoshop! I've been bored lately, and wanted to color in some of my line art, but I love the b&w to much to change it, so I've been working with Photoshop.

Original can be seen here.

Well, without further ado (been working just on line art, color will hopefully come later)...

Attempt at Photoshop #1

I still think Photoshop is the spawn of Satan.

5\/\/337!!! That's really cool! I prefer b&w myself but I've always been curious about the whole coloring with computer thing.. I dunno.

I love photoshop. I hate cleaning up scanned pictures for it. Pain in the arse. I just work with a tablet directly into photoshop when I use it. Makes the entire process... more pleasant.

I love Photoshop as well, mainly cause it breathes life into all the pictures and such but I hate the cleaning up process that it takes when one is attempting to turn normal lines on a peice of paper into a beutiful ( possibly ) work of art.

What I hate most though is the cleaning up, mostly cause I don't have a tablet to draw on and I ink and color with only a mouse. It's a bit infuritating. Sadly though, I have nothing else to help me in my quest for world do- er.... Art.

Ya.

I said art.

ANYWHO!

The lineart itself looks very good and I like the outfit design. :3
The black and white version of it looks alright but with everything, it could use a little improvment.

I don't claim to be perfect. :P
I could use improvement as well.

A suggestion though, if you arn't allready using them, is when you open up a file in Photoswhop, automatically make about 3-4 layers.
LAYERS ARE YOUR FRIENDS

Anywho.

:3

Work your way from there. What I found is helpful is to have your inking and stuff on the topmost layer and your background pure white as you work on it.

So...
Ya.

My rabling is over and I hope you have found some point to this whole post.

D:< It took me a whole 2 seconds to log in ya know!!!
I SACRIFICED TO GIVE YOU THIS WONDERFUL POST!!!
T_T You'd better like it!

photoshop is sold at your nearby software shop.

and, i would need at least 6 months just to get useed to and learn about photoshop to apply it to my drawings, then as soon as i can do really good drawings, i'll send them for commisions or sumtin, save up enough money and go to japan for the tokyo U. and yes, love hina still has an after-effect on me.

Not bad at all, Lot better that I could do on the account I don't have photoshop and have never used it. The original is pretty good too.

Oh, I've got layers there. Only way I know about 'em is from Using Fireworks at school, and then Flash. I'm glad I'm done with the inking, since no matter what medium I'm using, I don't really care for inking. Thankfully, on a computer, I can erase stuff.

GIMP -- haha--- or sorry-- wasnt suposed to laugh <_< >_>
anywho!
I agree- color is great-- unless your color blind! And i know a few colorblind people that do art! They arent the best people to ask "Does this look right?" though...

Quick point to make-- The only reason anyone should use GIMP over photoshop is money! Photoshop is WELL worth the money-- GIMP is too (because it cost NOTHING!) but when it comes down to it GIMP is a near photoshop clone-- if you can use one it doesnt take much to use the other- though GIMP is commonly more clunky and lacks the refined tools and layout Photoshop has... also putting GIMP on a resume is --- well it makes you look rather silly-- Photoshop on the other hand makes you look like a pro-- because all the pros use Photoshop--- thats why in college for any art program you learn about photoshop!
Painter is cool too...

Black and white only works when its meant to be just those two-- values-- since Black isnt a color and white isnt a color...
