Any tips for a struggling young artist trying to create his own comic?

Well, first I should probably describe what I know about it so far. Okay, here's basically what I have finished (in my head):

There isn't a real storyline, making it similar to El Goonish Shive, but rather a random collection of strange adventures ensuing after the large group of main characters gain special powers during a field trip to the museum.

The comic is going to be based in the cartoon version of the town my high school is in, with all of the characters being based off of real people, mostly my friends. The powers they gain are also based largely on their real life personality.

For example, my character (currently known as Dan) is going to be possessed by a demon and gain fire powers. That's only because I think red is cool and red is attributed to fire.

So far, I've barely started creating the characters. Dan's the only one that's been actually given a unique face. So back to my question, what advice can you give me to help start up Otaku High (that's the name of the comic) and finish my characters?

Critiscism is accepted, even the bad kind.

Well, from experience, you can have the nastiest name ever, but so long as the character is portrayed in a very comical way, then it's fine.

Or just go with Bob. Either way works for me.

Random happenings aren't confusing! Like when my cat-girl knocked a bishie off a cliff! ..................oh, wait....

Anyways, I can give you a lot of help if you need it, I've been writing comics since I was 5. It sounds cool, if you need any help, feel free to e-mail me, pm me, or get on aim.

*sigh* I'm one of 3 people who like Harthfell. But it sounds soooo cool...

Then again, I might think is sounds cool because it's a lot like Hasielfell, a wolf furre in Windshear Chronicles who is a bodyguard to the queen, and thus an angel in her own way...

The topic is over half a year old-- wow-- you are really making every stupid mistake in the book so far...-- get it all out now and dont let it happen again-- or else you wont be able to make them again.
