I doubt it. I think if Lady Nora intervenes with anything, it'll be to set trace free.

After all they know each other...Quite Personally.

My first intuition was that the fight would fall apart in the next installment, and angry loving would ensue. Now I'm beginning to think it isn't Tom's style.

My wager is this: Somebody is going to walk in on the two, but at an angle where the knife is hidden between them. I really can't see any reason for Tom to thrust them into MORTAL KOMBAT stark naked, other than if the fight is going to be interrupted, and when they leave, Keith is going to back off and spill the beans.

Makes for a nice, "Oh God, was I about to do that?" scene.

Thats a good idea, I'm going to look at the comic to see what angle the door is to them..

Ya, if you follow it, the door is behind them. What someone walking in would see, because Natani's tail is up, is Keith, mounted on top of her. But they wouldn't be able to see that she's a she.

That actually would be pretty hilarious, Fast, considering everybody's convinced Natani's a guy, and her bewbs are out in the open and everything. Can you say, "Bastian Black Magic?"

Their not in the open tho. The way their lying, Keith and her tail covers everything that proves she's a she.

It should so be Alaric. Who after about 3 seconds asks to join.

Ah, good point. Buuuut, Tom may just arrange physics to his liking of that matter.

However, in the case that Natani appears male in her current position, it would be more appropriate that Flora walks in on them, since she did it before.

True, but I think the shock of seeing Laura might make him stand up and reveal Natani's secret. If its FLora, he might start to, but Natani could be more aware and pull him closer trying to keep up the illusion that She's a he.

Some attention has to come from the melee. I mean combat isn't exactly quiet and we have Nat being thrown to the floor already. We have Flora and Laura in the inn as well as the mysterious shape changing inn keeper, dragon, gaurds, and possibly the General of Intelgence down stairs. I am not sure if Eric is there or in the ship right now. (I think he is in there due to the rain). Some attention should come from those two fighting.

Actually, this combat wouldn't make much noise. 3 bodies hitting the ground (The first slam, Natani flipping Keith, and Keith tripping Natani) and the noise that Keith made. (Graaah! when he attacked and the Ah! from being flipped)

The people downstairs wouldn't hear it from the general talking in the bar. The people upstairs may not hear it due to the rain, so you can't automatically assume that.

Even with super hearing. Your in the middle of a discussion, with 20 other conversations going on around you, rain pounding (Sure to annoy the hell out of someone with super hearing), your probably trying to block as much out as you can.

Any gaurds there are probably under orders from the Intelligence General to ignore anything anyways..or their transporting Trace..

Great point. The Basitins expect a struggle. None of their soldiers are about to move in on that room. Laura, Flora, Eric, or Kat might, but the Basitins won't help them at all.

Judging from his attitude, the Intelligence General probably WANTS Keith to get killed in the struggle. He could try to take advantage of the struggle to have Keith killed and make it look like Natani killed him.

Natani grabs Keith's head roughly, and, in one smooth motion, pushes the quivering knifeblade away and pulls Keith's face to hers. She locks fangs with the Basitin and they share a long kiss. When it breaks, Natani looks up into Keith's cloudy eyes, her own eyes shining with tears as well.

"No," she whispers, "That was my fault."

"Natani," Keith whispers back, tears running down his face, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Natani leans up to plant a kiss on Keith's forehead.

"Keith," Flora calls, "I'm really worried about Trace. Could you help me go look for him?" The door knob rattles as Flora opens the door, letting it swing wide and exposing Keith and Natani's naked forms on the floor. Flora's jaw drops wide open, whatever other words she had to say lost. "K-Keith?" Flora asks, dumbstruck.

Turn to page 69

Panicked, Natani encircles Keith with her arms and pulls him against her breasts. They could feel each others hearts beating like a horse at a gallop.

"Natani," whispers Keith, "W-what are you doing? Flora will think we're -"

"Better that then she think I'm female!" she hisses in his ear. Natani's tail curls protectively over her womanhood, hiding it from the awestruck tiger.

Keith turns his head and yells at Flora, "Get out! We're... training!"

Never losing her slack-jawed expression, Flora steps out, closing the door behind her. Keith sighs and lifts himself up, but he can't get off of his knees. Natani has him held fast around his chest.

"N... not yet. Please," Natani whines as she clutches at Keith's warmth. Keith lets her drag him back down with her and they share the amorous embrace for uncounted minutes, hours, even. Keith's gaze meets Natani's, and they know each other's thoughts without words. Softly, Keith sits back, lifting Natani with him. Their eyes close halfway as they kiss, both caught in the ecstasy of the moment. When they finally release one another, Natani sits back.

"Keith," Natani says with a surprised look, "Is that... is that your..."
