I think the difficulty doesn't need any fixing, especially the first three chambers. They're basically repeats of the later chambers in the original Portal. I can understand if people were stuck and confused when the game starts requiring you to do things you never did in Portal, but I don't see why people are complaining about the chambers before new puzzles. Also, if you're really, really stuck, Youtube it.
My only peeve with the puzzle itself is that, in the final test chamber, the solution involves exiting the test chambers by shooting a portal through the spaces between the stairs; something I never would do unless I was trying to find the easter eggs within the game.

People who can get past the third chamber won't have too much trouble with the later levels. People who get stuck, however, probably won't do much better in the later chambers. The only reason the creator is
fixing the difficulty is to encourage people to keep on playing through the game without quitting, since a lot of people complained about it. People just have to remember that this game isn't Portal; it's the challenging version of it.
