Its liquefied caffeniated candy. I can barely even stand the smell.

Besides that, I crash when I eat a lot of sweets and I crash hard. No fun.

Im confident in my natural resilience to sleep and I enjoy being laid back, rather that a sugar fueled bullet

I think we're clones. Every single part of that message applies to me.

O.o

All the numbers in this thread mean nothing to me...

NO EN-O-GEE DRINKS FOR ME, THANKS!
I can muster up my own energy when I need to, I don't really need the extra caffeine or sugar or whatever those things give you, I've never really had the desire to care.

Besides, when I'm tired, I get hyper on my own, for some reason. At least, I'll start talking really fast and randomly...

Okay. Now that I've come down and am almost back to normal I feel I should write a reflection.

Drinking that Spike was one of the stupidest things I have ever done. Not so much that I did drink it, but the manner in which I consumed it. I not only didn't read all of the warnings printed on the can but completely ignored the ones that I did see. I could have died. And I value my life more than that kind of high. I think I came too close to the limits of what I think my body can handle and I swear that I will never, ever drink that much that fast again.

To conclude, that was more "energy" than I ever want to take in in one sitting. I will probably end up drinking another Spike in my lifetime, but I will drink it with much, much more caution.

Really, speed of intake honestly makes no difference in the effects. If it was honestly that rough on you, then you should stay away from SPIKE altogether. (It sounds like you have an easily rattled central nervous system or something weird...)

I've never heard of people being put at life risk of these before to be honest. (If we have had such cases, Energy Drinks would probably much more talked about and of a controversial subject.) You might have gotten carried away... :|

For me it does not do to much since i dont chug it and i know how my body will react to it...the reaction gets weaker with every can...like first time i was shaking involentaroly...the 2nd..not as much...be the 3rd time nothing...i was more awake and had more energy but na i would not shake or anything. Its just a matter of getting used to that amount of stuff...which for me took 3 cans...now i can drink up to 3 cans a day before i get hit with the shakes. But i have cut down...1-3 cans a month. I get my 1st can in two weeks on Saterday  im happy

My 2 cents: That reads a lot like addiction...

Ironically, for me, energy drinks (or at least the one I tried) didn't do anything for me. On the other hand, lots of water seems to work. 3 days (8am - 2am, 8am - 4am, 8am - now (12:30am)), 10 hours of sleep... and I'm not tired, strangely. Was tired earlier though, but that passed. And nothing with caffiene or B12 as far as I can tell.

So, no, I don't see the point in energy drinks (at least for me), and looking at the potential health risks, I'll probably continue to avoid them. Maybe I'll start drinking coffee, but that's probably the strongest stimulant I can see myself ever taking. (And I can't even stand coffee right now... yet I'm a student. Strange, huh?)

Totally agreed. That's about the only time I touch energy drinks, I see em more as a mixer.

Today, me and some friends (yes, apparently I do have a social life, who knew? I sure as hell didn't) went to the mall and got a four pack of "Duff", an energy drink with the same name as the Simpsons beer, and has a picture of Homer Simpson on the cans. We all tried a sip, and near simultaniously did a spit take on the food court table. The stuff tastes like sugary piss, and that is by no means an exaggeration.

Caffeine is an addictive stimulant, ergo a drug. It's not as strong as cocaine or nicotine, but it can be hard to quit for some people.

Absolutely. I know that I'm personally addicted to it, and there are severe physical withdrawal symptoms if I don't get a reasonable dose early enough in the day (caffeine withdrawal tends to be headaches). It doesn't form a strong enough addiction to necessarily form cravings (not the same level of cravings as nicotine or even alcohol, anyway), but it definitely provides all the other effects of an addictive drug.

I know it's a drug (hence the 'horrible' part), and yes it can be hard for some people, but so can...quitting chocolate. It's not even a tenth as bad as something like heroin is, but.. eh, that's a bad example, but you get my point...and it's 4 AM..and eh. Anyways, good luck with your caffeine problems, guys. I'm going to zonk out now. Zzz..lol, I used too many periods in this post. Reader: I GET IT, YOU'RE TIRED. JESUS CHRIST.
