Pheonix is a good comic.
It kinda deserves to be first.
Twokinds is good too, but imho, Pheonix is better.
Work of art in every panel.
But for me, no comic more rightfully deserves the top spot than The Zombie Hunters.
Course, I vote for all those and several others, so I play all sides.
How very... Baltar-esque (sp?), if I'm not wrong.
Anyway, yes, art-wise, Phoenix is nicer - more realistic - but I prefer Twokinds... I look for the story over the art. 243 'pages' into Phoenix, and I'm not entirely sure what is going on, whereas Twokinds is more straight-forward.
Phoenix is what it intends to be, I believe - a graphic
novel, which I would prefer to be able to sit down and read all in one go. Twokinds, on the other hand, is truly a web-comic (imho) in the sense that it's broken up into small story arcs which still fit into the bigger picture, much like what is being done now. The twokinds book, I think, is Tom's attempt to give us a nice and easy way of reading Twokinds, not to spread it to a larger audience, except maybe by word of mouth. (Quite honestly, I doubt most bookstores will stock comics by a fairly unknown person, and where Tom is doing everything by himself, it implies that he's going this alone, without the help of a big publishing house - which would have the 'power' to cause bookstores to stock it. Chicken and egg problem, all over again.)
Anyways, that was my opinion. Yes, Phoenix is nice, but I prefer Twokinds. And that's why Twokinds is getting my daily vote. =)
