Yeah i'm going to have to agree, this would be good if, you get good talent it those fields but it will take a long time so it seems impractical

I never said this was going to be a short term project. I said "this will more than likely take a bit of time since no one here is a professional game designer that can build a game for free. "
I actually thought a few people might jump on the wagon if not to help build it then to at least support it... Any who, anyone else?

Eh yeah this is just a bit (by a bit I mean VERY) far fetched, cute thought though I'm sure many others have already thought of it. Would just take way too much time that a lot of folks probably don't have, at least wouldn't be willing to dedicate their spare time to without some kinda incentive. I used to do some programming (I haven't since leaving ITT) but from what I remember it gets horribly time consuming.

I was just thinking something we could do in our spare time and the incentive would be the payoff. A fun game (even though it is just a source mod) that we would have created.

I think you should give the Pyro a can of hair spray and a lighter and the scout should have one of those inflatable hammers instead of his baseball bat, includong the squeeky sound it makes when you hit things with it :P

Well, one sure can dream

I too think that a whole new game resembling Team Fortress is just.. too much to handle. Maybe just remodeling and stuff, but a whole new game? And we lack the people to do it, experienced or not.

I suggest a whole another type of game. Besides, source too is a suicide in itself.

I think just do a reskin of TF2 for the moment. If it goes down well and gets plays etc. then maybe you will be able to get more outside help on doing a full on mod. Aim ambitions high, but start small ;)

I have some c++ skills, basic as they may be....

This would be a cool projects to pass the time with. There are mmo's out there and some games players have made as a group for free. on gameDev.net and planeshift.it

planeshift is a 3D mmo that has been in dev for 4-6 years and is still not at version 0.5. It still is in early alpha but still has a fan base. The devs are working on this for free and of there own time and energy as a project to experiment and enhance there skills. So even tho no money will be offered in working on this, you gain more knowlege and skill.

gamedev is a place too go if you need programming help in openGL, DirectX, SDL, and other apps. Their you can ask questions on how to handle things in your code better or how to do this and that.

Game being made by one person.

Sorry for the little rant right now....
