I didn't see it mentioned before, but what about fur length? It seems (mostly) that Natani has the puff more then the other characters, due to the longer fur coat, Kat and Flora appear to be shorthairs and mike seems to be a kind of medium length.

From beginning to end all characters in the comic showing up with or without puffs.

So in summary

Flora - No puff (with the exception of chapter 5 cover) seemingly shorthair
Kathrin - No puff - seems shorthair
Natani - 2 variations but both puffs are visible - seems med / long hair
Keith - small puff - seems med / long hair
Mike - small puff - seems med hair

This is based only on story shown shots, anything made outside the story I've not considered because it may have variations that Tom just wanted to do.

The story in whole, seems very consistent on if characters have the puffs or not and it also seems to match their apparent fur lengths. And that's my 2 cents.

Versus Euchre and his mega-crotch-devouring-puff.

It's probably best not to think about this entire subject.

It gives the non-furries in the room a fair amount of squick.

Hydra you fool! Alpharius would not have you revealing your allegiance so willingly when the going is good!

And really there isn't that much squick. It's like talking about humans with a very thick mass of pubic hair themselves. Which quite frankly would be a natural hassle that led to poor sanitation.

Maybe certain breeds like tigers and wolves have much longer puffs than foxes which are almost hairless, and the puff probably defaults to slightly poofy like in the new voter incentive kind of like "morning hair"

I think that males puff it up even more than default to cover their stuff up like a fig leaves while females groom it flat like bikini bottoms or male parts naturally push the puffs up while females don't have anything to push up the puff and Natani grooms her puff up because she thinks she is male.

I also think the tail censorship is because Keith doesn't have a puff to cover things up since he's a separate species so the artist might have used a tail.

My theory is...its a comic, its a kind of fig leaf thing..but its so non-relevant, other then in sexual situations, thats its really not that big of an issure.

IT IS A COMIC. IT IS A MODESTY THING.

So how about instead of talking about how they groom their pubic hair, we actually pay attention to the actual story and not a Pube-Puff...

I never thought I'd have to make a comment on how comic characters groom their pubic hair...Hell, I'd never thought I'd have to comment on comic pubic hair...
