I can't help but point out that this may not be the "last" thing in his way. All things considered, with the notable exception of Alaric, the basitin upper ranks have been doing everything they can to prevent his return. Moving the trial up for one example. If he gets past this, I can't help but think that they will come up with something to set him back yet again.

Be that as it may, the order to kill Natani and the trial are pretty much the extent of the obstacles we and Keith are currently aware of. I have no doubt that Alabaster will do his best to come up with something more, but from Keith's perspective, all he has left is to kill Natani and get through whatever this trial is.
