You can have the internet feature by buying the RAM GBA cartridge that comes with the official NDS browser cart.

http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DS-Lite- ... B000OAO494

And the DS doesn't got enough capacities to run videos/sounds or flash on the net.

Meh well I'm perfectly happy with my ds lite and if I want to get online I'll just use my psp which I use more offten then the ds. I only got the ds for certain games since Nintendo is only now makeing somewhat decent games that don't involve Mario or Link.

a new stylus everytime the old one tried to fall out. (THAT'S how you solve the problem Fooby. It's the stylus, not the DS (for the most part))

My problem was the stylus.
I had a backup stylus (I've had both original styluses from when I first got it) and kept both of mine in rotation every few months for whatever reason. One of them went missing somewhere in my room, and I never bothered to look for it. In the meantime, the current stylus got eroded to the point of easy slip-out. I then found the other one a few weeks ago, tried it out. No slippy.

And the GBA slot serves a purpose. You can get your old Pokemon off of it for Diamond/Pearl.

I never really got that good at Pokémon, and for however long I had played Diamond, I never had the desire to transfer my Sapphire Pokés.

If you have the predecessors to whatever game you're playing, you can get a nice bonus.

I still plan to retain my DS bulk. I can just use that.

And Guitar Hero for DS uses the slot for their controls.

Guitar Hero DS was a horrible idea in the first place anyway. You can't call it Guitar Hero if you're not playing with a plastic guitar-shaped controller.

Ew. No no no. That internet browser is SLOW. Nintendo is even admitting it by saying the DSi's browser will be much faster than that one.

Honestly, when looking more into it, I'd definitely get one. Moreso if it had 802.11g Wi-Fi for much faster speeds. I wouldn't get rid of my old DS though.

I have owned 3 original DS's, and 2 lites (darn you metroid prime hunters) *fistshake* had to replace them because the L/R buttons broke all the time.

but I might buy this for the bigger screen, might be cool on pokemon platinum.

Uhhh... so is Nintendo learning from Wizards of the Coast, or is it the other way around.

BLATANT GRAB FOR MONEY!

Seriously, are they that hard up for cash, that they'll sink this kind of muck into the market, rather than developing something that actually kicks butt? I've been ambivalent or worse about Nintendo since the 64 came out, but the handhelds have always been top of the line stuff.
Then the SP came out, with no headphone jack, no way to swap batteries.
Then the DS came out, with all sorts of neat features that I'll never use, and a pricetag that still makes me sigh. For that much money, I'll buy a real system, thank you.
Then the DS lite. A fragile POS.
And now this. Nintendo, please. Stop trying to emulate everyone else. You have great dedicated franchises, but if you can't showcase them on your next handheld, you will go the way of Sega. Sonic couldn't save Sega. Mario, Pokemon, and Smash Brothers won't save you. Stop trying to feed us fragile, overloaded money-eaters. I still have a GameBoy. A brick. It still works. I've been through two SPs, and my roommate's been through 3 DSs. Make your product solid again. Planned obsolescence might help those soaring profits now, but it really pisses your customers off when they have to go buy a replacement platform every few months.
That's bad enough without making the actual platforms more uselessly overburdened over time.

I think I love you Talaisan...you can read my mind. I still have the old gameboy brick, in its monochromatic glory. And it still works just fine, the only issue I have had with it is that little plastic cover that goes over the screen fell off once. Super glue fixed that.

Even back as far as the gameboy color, I killed like 4 of those and just haven't really bothered to spend the money on a new hand held since.

There, this one should be harder to mistake for someone else. ^_^

Ah... and on topic, a question. How much do you think you've spent on Nintendo handheld hardware, overall? Myself, that's one GrayBrick, one GBA, 2 GBA SP. So... about $600, probably less.

Eh I have spent probably right around $400 on nintendo's handhelds ( do you mean consoles too? then the numbers get much higher) I forgot I had 1 of the origional GBA's even it bit the dust on me before too long.

I really don't see the point in buying a new one, even if you old one breaks. When the new one comes out ( I have a coworker that is drooling over it  ) He is buying the new one so I am thinking about buying his old tank for like $50 If it breaks, big woop, I'll spend a few bucks and get some new parts on ebay

Meh, I'll buy it. For one real reason, my current DS' screen is messed up, and it's impossible to calibrate it. (I've tried over and over for 15 minutes and it still stays on the squares screen.)
