dude...... if that board were a human.... it would be do-able....

I like it, but only question is, in order to make it clear, did they have to sacrifice durability?

No. As Mike noted, it's a polycarbonate. I'd be willing to wager that it's more durable than a wood or fiberglass board. Now, it'll show scratches like nobody's business, but that's something that you have to deal with for clear materials.

ok, I see

and a question for speedfreak
does it feel glassy or does it feel like plastic, because if it feels glassy, then that just makes it cooler than it was before, you should look into seeing if they make clear wheels too, so when you ride it, it looks like you're hovering.

It feels like glass...clear wheels are not doable because i have no idea where to get them and what about trucks? Clear ones are hard if not imposible to find too. And AV i am using polish to get rid of scratches...there were a few tiny one's when my friend delivered it...but i got rid of them last polish run...gonna go and buy some soon and a stand for it too. XD my question was should i order a 2nd? oh and yea its more durable then wood...just cant grind or anything with it to avoid scratches. My friend tho said that it could easily get run over like my last board...and will not snap...just scratch up bad.

My Question is if it feels like glass, if you were to ride one like that, how would yo keep your grip? There is a course surface on most boards for a VERY good reason

$125??? You got ripped off man. The plastic couldn't have cost more than 50 and no way it takes 75 to run a mill to cut and engrave it.

its made of (from what I understand) a clear polymer that is stronger than a wood board, yet is clear and "glass-like" so my best bet, is that the polymer wasnt just plastic, it could have been a mix of all kinds of materials. and besides, you have to sell the board for more than the cost of making it, isint that the basic rule for selling goods.... also it looks to be laser engraved (correct me if im wrong) but if it is... then thats a high quality board and I say get another one.... but Ihave another question.... did you choose the "nos" logo or did it come like that... cause if you can choose then I want to get one now with the enjoi panda engraved on it.

I got to chose the NOS logo. My friend is the one cutting the board and yea the material is expencive. It is laser cut and i got it dropped it off himself(not like its worth much since he is a friend that visits atleast once a week)
I think my friend makes 25 bucks a board or somethiung like that plus he has to put in extra hours at work to cut it since he has to cut it on his own time and as an example for how much he works...90 hours last week (that is not counting the board.)

Yes, get a second one - then you can thrash the first and still have a nice, shiny one as backup...
;3

...and your friend should think about making those full-time - I think there'd be a market...

He is thinking about patenting the idea. The boards are expencive tho. I have been trying to convince more people to buy them but its hard since no one wants to spend that much on just a deck.

the reason i hate bikes...they are borring and stupid (to me) and skating looks cooler and is more fun (to me) it may be slower then a bike but skating on an invisible board is epic...if i could get clear tires and trucks it would be funny to see peoples reaction xD

Yeah, get another. Display one, ride the other. And your friend should definitely get it patented.

or you could get an invisible bike. watching someone seated and riding on air would be as awsome as watching someone skating on air

I demand clear polymer bikes!!
and yeah, tell your friend he needs to patent and sell this stuff

Plexiglas- Lexan- Polycarbonate are all the same material/plastic It is an amorphous plastic that is not that expensive trust me I know I have worked with it and acrylic and many other types including: HIPS, ABS, UHMWPE, HDPE, PP, LDPE, Nylon, Glass Filled Nylon(shudder), various coolerants and fillers, Engineering grade thermosets, Miles of Mylars, and of course one of the most used plastic products PETE. I worked in a plastics lab for a while.
