After hearing a couple comments about the game from the "What Game are you Playing" thread I figured I'd start its own thread.

Hmm interesting, no one has mentioned Force Unleashed... anyone played it and have an opinion? I've heard conflicting reports.
I bought it for PS3 and an acquaintance of mine bought it for Wii. From my experience with the PS3 the game is pretty decent. Not great, but it's able to hold its own. I'm a bit surprised by the difficulty of the game. I never expected to die so many times on normal (I guess I've been playing too many games purely for their story). I haven't beaten the game yet because I haven't been able to find the time to play the game, but I figure I'm about halfway give or take 10-20%. The graphics are alright. They
could have made them better but I don't think they
needed to make them better (I think it has to do with the cross platforming, but I'd need more info.). I like how you're able to customize your powers and lightsaber in a KOTOR-like fashion but I'm slightly annoyed by the fact that you have to go through loading screens from the start menu to get there and back. The jedi fights have been the most difficult part of every mission (for me, anyways), but I've really enjoyed them and how they rigged the camera to focus on the battlefield. The "finishing-move" cinematic style are also really entertaining for me to watch when I can (this style was also one of my favorite parts about MGS4, too).
As for the Wii version, I hear the gameplay is great. I can't really tell much about it since I haven't played it myself and my acquaintance and I probably have a few misunderstandings (stupid English :P). I hear that the Wii version has its own multiplayer mode where two players duel each other much like the Jedi fights in the game, something that sounds pretty nice to me. I've also heard that there is a map with a hole or pitfall that you can die in, so... maybe avoid that map altogether if you don't like it. I believe he said (and I'm not quoting this) that the graphics on the Wii were somewhat 2D on 3D objects. To try and give an example of what I think is meant is that the, let's say, star destroyer's (triangular ships for those who don't know) turbolasers (weapons) are painted on to main structure of the ship while in the PS3 (and most likely 360) versions have the weapons as actual 3D objects on the ship.
From what I've gathered of the plot, I'd rank it as fair and not quite as good as the Jedi Knight games. There's already something I need to go back and check on, though. Without having beaten the game, I'm going to focus more on a few of the little things. One, being how the Imperial officers have accents. Something they were trying to strive for in the first trilogy, which I admire very much and makes me respect the game a little bit more. Another thing was the woman pilot. I found it a bit odd that they gave her such distinguished credentials considering the Emperor's disapproval of women (though that might just be Expanded Universe). However, I think can see how it might help to further the plot. My favorite part of the game so far has been Jar Jar Binks (or a similar looking Gungan) frozen in carbonite, hanging on a wall in a trophy room on Kyshyyk.
And that's pretty much what I've been able to gather on the game so far. What it seems to come down to is PS3 and 360 have the superior graphics while the Wii has the superior gameplay (and this sentence was a complete opinionated oversimplification which I don't have facts to back up at the moment, if indeed any exist). And thus concludes my one and a half cents (I just know I've forgotten something). But if you add inflation that comes to... Ah, it's not important. So what do you guys think about this game?
