You dont get to choose your species anymore than ya get to choose your sex , place of birth, race, parents etc. So until they develop a way to manipulate your DNA to the point of making you a different species- you are human, and you are part of Humanity. You don't get a choice this time. You can dress up in furs and bite into raw meat as much as ya want but, your government will still collect your taxes, and will still count you in the census, and will protect you as a human. Which you should be greatful for.

You can still hate humanity as much as ya want, but it's not going to change anything. If you really want to help, you're going to have to find a way to pick up the slack left from all the people that don't do "their part". And if you say "no way- that's their job" - welcome back to the human race.

As much as I would prefer to be a fit and fair 24 year old again, it ain't happening. I am 34, I am very rotund, and I have 3 beautiful children to show for it. Instead at looking at all that is WRONG with being human, try looking at all that is RIGHT with being human.

Focusing on the negativity never improves a thing, and tends to leave one depressed.

Try this: for every negative thought you have, make yourself find two positives.

You might find yourself happier and healthier for it.

Exactly. Life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Otherwise you're just going to spend your time sulking about what you can't have.

Thats the right attitude! Thinking Negative always leads to problems later on in life.

Just a lil curious though. When one makes a thread called, Humans Vs Furries, whats someone's first impression on this? I honestly think the thread name could have been a little....different....this one seems hostile for some reason. As if its a flame war thread O_o

I think a generic "Which is better", but since I make a living (not really) on browsing Vs. Debate forums (this one really), I think it's understandable.

This thread was the product of wondering at the thought processes that leads to a section of the population:

deciding they were not human, and

blamed the rest of humanity for every ill there ever was; just the biggest blight on creation that ever existed.

And attempting to decipher that mentality, and what, if anything, should/could be done about it.

I suppose I could change the name of the thread. Any suggestions?

Enjoy your deadly liver flukes and brain-eating Mad Cow. Medium-Rare is the way to go.

Errrrm, no. If it ain't grey, it can still play. The only safe meat to eat is well done, sorry guys. Liver flukes and other pathogens have been known to survive half- (ahem) cooking measures.

Trichinosis is especially infamous in that regard.

Apparently, my arm got bumped in the selection. sorry sweeties.

I cook my meat until it's crispy. There's something about having a crunchy outer layer that makes it taste goooood.

Well yeah if you don't know how to cook. Cooking steak *correctly* to medium-rare takes a long time. Grades of how much steak is cooked isn't dependent on a time scale of more time = better cooked unless you're a crappy chef. Flukes and all that jazz can't survive in medium-rare or even rare steak if it's cooked correctly because of how long it's exposed to the heat.

I learned so much about deadly and invasive organisms throughout my career, I can gross myself out at will any time I want.
