Probably about how they need more DRM so people can't pirate it in the future.

I guarantee that if they do that, the profits of their PC games will drop drastically. Nothing is unpiratable, every game until now got a pirated version, the worst i've saw until now is probably Valve's games because the cracks are a pain to install.

After all, we could just boycott them.

Man... you people bashing EA should really do some research before you start flaming them. Yes it's true that EA have been known to churn out the same old crap cause it makes money... they are a business after all.

EA do listen to the fans. When they planned on releasing a new kind of anti pirate thingy with the PC release of Mass Effect everyone was up in arms about it. EA dropped this new idea at the fans request.

Also, few people know that when Valve were working on Half Life 2 they ran into some massive money troubles. THe company that bailed them out was none other then EA. So... EA stopped the greatest FPS of all time from drifting into nothingness.

Anyway enough about that.

Spore is teh shizzle, been playing it quite a lot. I'm in space and I'm building up my little empire nice and slowly. It's taking a while to establish my cash flow, but once thats sorted I'll start crushing every nearby race. I already wiped out a species in the tribal stage because I wanted their space rich homeland.

hey, don't judge me

I did the exact same thing Nuff. I pulled out my flood-o-matic and killed em off and then deserted it. It's a magma cess-pool filled with green spice. yayyy!

My race has to be the most heartless son-affa-guns ever. I killed multiple species off by hurtling them into space, while listening to the satisfying crunch of their dead bodies.

Also, I found a video.

Spore: Arrival to Earth.

There's the ship from Galactic Invaders in the game! :D

Edit: There's lots of sci-fi and mystery goodies in the game, including Sol, home to our very own Mother Earth! Also.. Obelisks.

I know this is directed about my rants about the sims, churning out and selling old crap isn't my problem, Nintendo has been doing it since decades and selling it out even thought i think it's a bad example to the gaming industry(always re-using the same formula) and Capcom is the worst offender to that(Megaman notably). But releasing a game and making billions of 40$ expansions to "complete" it while you already released the same expansions for it's prequel is just greedy and picking in people's pockets, the sequel should come with all that stuff included already.

Kitsune, would you or would you not prefer a game to be in development for 50 years to be the most mind-explodingly awesome piece of game ever, but end up being too old to be interested, or have small sweet tastes, and have a choice of what to add to your experience? I think the availability outweighs the wait.

Now you are just taking it to a over-exaggerated level, my point is that they also already done it for the sims 1, so why re-do it all over with the sims 2? They could at least have added 2-3 of the original sims 1 expansions into the sims 2 instead of chucking out a billion of expansions. Some of them just have ridiculous content for the price(a sims new expansion here is 40$), they should be cheaper at least considering how much i bought the game and how much the expansion contains compared to the original game, it's not like the expansion of a FPS or a strategy game.

And i always wondered how the hell Megaman got to NINE along with all the crappy spin-offs.

stop whining about the fricking sims... if you wanna moan about their crappy expansions then start a new thread. It's a terrible game anyway, if you can even call it a game

I don't really credit them for that, since it took several weeks and very serious threats of boycott. If they really listened to consumers, they would already be removing the DRM constraints of Spore.

Didn't EA also publish Half Life 2, or was that just the OB? In which case, it makes a lot of sense for them to bail out something that they knew would be a blockbuster.

Holy crap i guess EA can have some good times...

Well still 80% of the other time ea sucks. With spore now coming out

That % drops dramatically. Not to mention Mercenaries 2.

So that % is now 40% Of the time now that Ea is uncrappy

YAY FOR EA!
