To put it politely, he felt QuothTheRaven took things too seriously.
Perhaps we are not so strict as warboards.org, but I still don't mind seeing correct grammar. I'm not advocating a crack down, necessarily, but if it's difficult to break apart your sentences or read what you write, then people are likely to ignore what you write or mock you. As I said, we only know people by what they project online. Proper grammatical usage goes a long way to winning respect and admiration. Poor grammar has to be backed up by simple, succinct, and always accurate comments if the poster expects to be well respected in general. The amount of effort necessary to be treated seriously and have your comments read when your grammatical usage is poor far, far outweighs the effort necessary simply to write with better grammar.
I cannot underscore enough how quickly a person with poor or unusual grammatical conventions gets regaled to the inner ignore list of a lot of commenters, so it doesn't matter how insightful or intelligent they are -- nobody bothers to read their posts because they offload the energy that it takes to make their sentences sensible to the readers. Most of us are fairly lazy readers; we'd rather the writer put in the effort to make us
want to read what they write, rather than post up virtual gibberish and expect us to make sense of it. We've seen otherwise intelligent posters who actually want and try to contribute get derided and ignored because they refused to write by grammatical standards. It's an important part of communication, even on the forums.
