Hey there ya'll!
I've been writing a story now for some time and we've come to the point where we are trying to finalize a design for a race called the Cergie. There are, more or less, giant hamsters. They have gone through many gradual changes each looking more human than the last but we have come to a point where we can't decide between the final two candidates.
The earlier one has a larger nose and the red part pretty much takes up the entire end. Also, the first design doesn't really have any kind of room for a hair style. In the second one we have added whiskers, hair, and have made a more defined nose. Any kind of opinions or ideas would be greatly appreciated! ^_^

This here is the older style:

And this here is the newer style:

Why does it need pictures? Is it a kid's book? Or just a visual reference?
And the newer looks better.

The more recent ones are really, really scary. What is this for?

To me they both look... well visually unappealing, but the first way has the angry beaver vibe going on and I loved that show so, uh... that one?

Well, if there is something about them you don't like what would you change? I should actually put a version of the females up, because they differ a bit from the males to be, uh, more sexy.

And they aren't supposed to be scary! Cergie are peaceful!... Ish.

The images are actually going to be used for a bunch of things. One is that they will be used for visual reference and I would like to turn certain parts of the story into a webcomic. One day I'd like to make it into a manga and then if I'm lucky enough, an anime!

I think I still like the Japanese style of hamsters better although they are not anthromorphic in anyway.

I can't really think of any other way to change it. I wanna keep their noses kind of big, ya know? Sketches are still being done, though. Not exactly sure what I'll end up with.
