Screeches tore through the air, and claws pounded against the ground outside. Giolla woke from his slumber with a start, quickly donning his loin cloth and sash, and rushing outside, grabbing his spear laying near his door. He soon found himself amongst chaos surrounding their small houses. Giolla grabbed his sister as she ran past. "What is going on out here?" he demanded.
"There's... There's some strange thing flying around. We could not harm it... It stared at everyone of us," she said, shaking in his hands. She looked up at him, the terror evident in her eyes.
"Do not worry, I shall see about this," he said, releasing her. His claws dug into the ground before he pushed off, on his way to battle. He apologized quickly to the ground, and prayed that it would forgive him for any damage that he would cause. He summoned the wind to carry him faster, thanking it as it flowed around him. He found the orb, floating in front of a terrified lizard, near the edge of the land, and growing close to the swamp.
"What are you doing here!?" Giolla shouted, the orb ignored him for a second, finishing it's inspection of its target. Giolla called upon the water, asking for assistance. A snake of water flowed through the air, tearing towards the red orb. It moved quickly, avoiding the column of liquid. It turned its eye on Giolla, scanning him. It shot a beam at the lizard, forcing him to jump away quickly. He flew to a tree, grabbing and jumping from it, meanwhile voicing a small plea of forgiveness for the damage he caused. He once again called upon the wind, slamming the orb with a wall of wind it could not hope to dodge.
The orb floated, undisturbed by the force. Giolla landed next to it. "What is it?" he asked the spirits. The wind replied with a comforting breeze, the water flattened, and the vegetation stopped rustling. Even the sun shown upon the orb, reflecting off of it. "You!" Giolla shouted at the lizard before, still frozen from fear. "Tell the tribe that this orb means them no harm! But... I must go." Another beam shot out, a circle forming on the ground. Giolla knelt in the center, vanishing quickly in a flash of light.
He awoke in a white room, with many strange looking creatures around him. Some were hideously fuzzy, and one looked shiny and smooth, with a stature much like his own. "Why have I been brought here?" he asked aloud, "My tribe cannot hope to hold the land once the Iq'Tal find I am missing!"
