You make it sound fun :)

This is going to be a very awkward conversation, especially if Trace is around to "help" in his woozy state. Zao's still young enough for his parents to lie to him right? :P

I think so. (kind of want to add more to this, but I don't know)

"Into your V--"
"NO!!" *points to Zao*

*giggle* I can just picture the face palm that Flora does at the end of this conversation.
--------------------------------------

Since I haven't figured out what the next story should be yet, here are some doodles I cooked up after buying books for my upcoming fall term.

I'll start with the less coherent of the two. . .
Image
All started as baby practice. . . Huh?

Tried to focus primarily on peasant-y colors for them. Flora's dress is a pale red based on the dyes of a nuchu plant (or something similar).

Oh noes, why would you do that to Eric?

Oh, I remember, because it's funny.

Your sketches, as allways, never cease to amuse.

The Keiman in the bottom right corner freaks me out D:
But the rest is good. I like the shiny parts on the Keiman with the pipe. Oooh, shiny parts.

And tasty according to those 'fans'. I wanna do more culture sketches, but first I gotta organize what would make sense and what wouldn't.

Thank you for the comment
Actually those people are supposed to Flora, Trace, and Keith. No Keiman. (I probably should have did something to distinguish them, my bad). Generally concepts on how they look like as residents of the valley. Freaky dude in the right is supposed to be freaky, cuz he's crazy.

EDIT: August 22, 2008 update

Image
Most of the notes on the side are from reading an encyclopedia I have in my home. Also looked at the 2kinds archive to take note of the valley's geography. Also, must heed Emma's advice. . . Or else.

Image
Some Lyn'knoll/Orchard Valley concepts. Got mostly inspired from Peruvian elements I saw on the travel channel. Despite the number of humans in the concepts I think there'll probably be more Keidran than anything else. Since it's apparently difficult to get there from the human side. It's sort of hard imagining a cultural melting pot that didn't stem from being a central trading area. I should stop talking now, so I can see if the pictures speak for themselves.

World building deoodles are always appreciated.

Though i can't help but notice that you and i have a different style of world building. I draw something, and then try and justify it, and you do the oppositeit seems. I work top down, and you work bottom up.

Clearly, we must fight to the death.

I'd lose that duel, taking too long figuring out what my weapon of choice should be, let alone whether or not I'd be good with it.

It's very interesting how differently things can be approached by various individuals. I think my world building stems from a character guide I read a while back which suggested to start with the character's birth, environment and upbringing, and how all those elements affect the final product.

That Keidran blacksmith apprentice is awfully cute.
Wow, so much planning! I'm curious how this will look in the end. :D

Hint: if a gun is available, choose it. I've never fired a gun before, so we should be on equal footing.

Of course, I have practiced with some proficenecy with a rapier (the coolest dueling sword ever) and the longsword, so you might want a nice spear. Easy to use, and effective.

I myself usualy make a character, and then try and figure out what made him that way. It works out pretty well for me, since I am good at improvising. I adress the same things you do, but i just do it backwards. How strange.

He's going to be the very best that no one ever was! (at blacksmithing)
Trying my best to work out a good setting for any future stories in the valley. Though I'm always open to suggestion.
