I downloaded, I listened, and to be honest, I don't think you make a good Natani. Not a bad voice at all, and you may be better for Trace (please don't kill me). I also believe it would have been better if you gave us a little visual there.

To be honest, I myself am feeling less and less like my voice suits Natani. The main reason I bumped that was to get more than one opinion on it.

I'm glad you think I have a good voice, although I wouldn't have imagined playing Trace--don't know how I would have done his "evil" voice, as my voice isn't really evil at all. I certainly won't kill you, though (which might also negate my playing Trace).... ;)

I don't know what you mean by "visual," I'm still kind of stumped about that....

I do intend to delete that file eventually, so if anyone still wants to listen to it and give me their impression, they should do it soon.

I couldn't stand that. English voices. Period. Twokinds is not written in Japanese.

Anime fans are so stupid sometimes. There's nothing superior about Japanese VA's, you just prefer them because you can't understand them.

I'm so disappointed in the both of you. You both fail, because you are both wrong. To elaborate:

Twokinds would be made for the English language and therefore would be voiced in English, then translated into Japanese.

AMERICAN VOICES

Anime fans associate Japanese VA's with better work because it's usually the case, because it's the language they were made for, so it doesn't ever translate perfectly.

BECAUSE IT'S THE BEST MATCH, NOT BECAUSE WE CAN'T UNDERSTAND IT

I hereby declare a boot to both your heads.

Name one American animation that has good voice actors. One.

Japan is just better at picking voice actors.

I remember seeing one cartoon where Wayne Knight voiced a dragon. And who could forget Patrick Warburton.

I hate repeating myself. The voice acting is usually bad because the shows were designed for the Japanese language. You can't imagine how difficult it is to try to alter the scripts so it means generally the same thing but matches the lip movements.
Also Death Note. L's voice was PERFECT, and don't you DARE say it wasn't.

while under normal circumstances, I will always go with a japanese dub and amurican sub, two kinds should be done in english. simply put, to dub in japanese, that would just cause extra delay, block out some of the native fanbase, and add expense. It just makes more sense to do a native dub in english.

as for voices, christian bale for trace

Cowboy Beebop, dub better than original Japanese.
Fruits Basket, dub as good as the Japanese.
Ai Yori Aoshi, good dub.
Azu Manga Daioh good dub.
Spirited Away, very good dub.
Princess Mono- heck all the Miyazaki movies had great Dubs.
Genshiken, very good dub.
Moon Phase, good dub.
Appleseed movies 1 and 2, very good dub.

Those are all Japanese animations with great English voice actors many arguably much better- some even the Japanese tend to prefer (Lots of Japanese were asked about Cowboy Beebop and many of them prefered the English voice actors over the Japanese)

If you want better voice acting from an AMERICAN animation - Pick anything from Pixar or take a look at Samurai Jack, a very good voice acting by many people- and fitting to the style.

Japan has a SURPLUS of voice actors for animation- however you wouldn't know a bad Japanese voice actor without first being able to understand Japanese as it was your first language. There are TONS of animes with horrible Japanese voice actors- but you cant tell! Because you can't hear the little mistakes because you don't know what they are saying! They could be talking about dead dogs and the subtitles could actually follow the script and you would be none the wiser.

I've seen Spirited Away, it's good. Very good.

I think The Cat Returns deserves an applaud.

@ Sage: Bebop is the only one I recognized on that list...

But, you guys ever watch the Heavy Metal movies? Let's get the voice actors from the first movie. Den can be Trace, Harry can by Keith... it's endless, the possibilities!

DX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh god I am afraid to read any further. I will just pray that you left FMA, Code Geass, and Death Note out of this.

Did you even read what I said? Or do you just enjoy repeating yourself when you don't need to? ;)

I was hoping, Tamerlee, that no one on this forum would piss me off to this point, but congratulations, you've managed to make me have to hit something in real life.

I'm laughing pretty hard right now.

I don't understand how anyone can get so upset over absolutely nothing.
