Name: Eric Shmee
Side: Evil
Powers/Skills: Can sense when people are lying or hiding the truth. It has grown in power over the years, and he can now use it to tell when people are hiding from him or trying to sneak up on him, and even "conveniently forgetting" something. Is also very skilled in stealth, lock picking, infiltration, and disguises. Also seems to know just a little bit of everything.
History: He was born to a pair of famous bards as they roamed the country side, spreading their music and tales. As he grew up, he loved to be a part of the audience for his parents, always wanting to join in. Unfortunately, he lacked most of the skills required... To the point of being to horrible to even be allowed to practice any instruments without rupturing eardrums. Soon, he had brothers and sisters, much more skilled than him in just about everything. He found his niche with the act in costume making and... for a little extra cash... pickpocketing.
He discovered his extra sense one night when his family dodged the question of why he never got to act in the shows. He could tell... That they were lying. He stuck around until he was 16, then left, not being able to stand it anymore. He soon found that he had to resort to thievery to keep his mouth fed. He began spreading knowledge about himself as a thief, and was accepted as a mercenary in the underground, getting grander and grander jobs, eventually being asked to steal from a house with much power. Eventually, someone asked him for assassination. Eric agreed, and now is an assassin who steals on the side.
Personality: He has grown jaded to the good in people, dealing mostly with those with impure intentions, and the need to lie a bit too much. He no longer believes that people have any good in them, and would sooner kill any of those self righteous idiots who claim to do things "for the greater good" than take a job from them. Has a tendency to hide his ability. Goes by the alias "Fireman" to hide his identity from those enemies that he's made through his job.
Special items: He wears a strange hat-mask that covers most of his head and face. Also carries all manner of dagger and knives. His cloak has been enchanted to make him easily overlooked, and partially resistant to magic.
Something of interest: Never breaks a contract, once accepted, if he can help it. Don't get too many jobs if you never follow through on them now do you?
One of my favorite characters. If you need him to use magic, I can work some in there.
>_> I may make a good guy later...
