Yes, I know this isn't the Control Alt Delete boards, but I had to talk about this somewhere.

The latest CAD may have just raped any chance of us going back to happy comical stuff if it goes on as such.

Not to worry - I was debating making a CAD thread recently myself...
:3

I agree with you - but the comic hasn't been happy or funny for a good two months now - it's not a good sign that he's resorted to making CAD-lite strips just to keep the fans from rioting...
x.x

(My thread was going to ask the simple question of "WTF DID ZEKE SAY TO ETHAN?" They keep going on and on and ON about some incident between them right after Ethan reurned home from the hospital...but it didn't happen...ergggggggg...)

I'm just not sure how he views what he's doing as a good idea.

I seriously think he's written himself into a corner and can't see a way out without burning a couple of bridges...and his fanbase...

He needs to have an "it was all a dream" cop-out and throw away the last several months...

I would accept this being a day dream that in real life Lilah and him are about to have sex and he's looking at a thing of condoms.

Holy [censored]!
I just wrote him out of his troubles!

The real issue here is, not only does he like what's going on, he had this preplanned out, so he's had, for years, gotta the chance to see what a bad choice this is but still hasn't.
(He wrote about it in some news post a little bit back I think.)

I have no clue what this comic is, but is it safe to assume that I don't want to read it?

Media board. Somemod please move the thread soon.

As for my two cents...I like how it's getting more serious. A story driven comic needs to have some serious in it.

And yes, I also want to know what Zeke said to Ethan.

@Spike
Oh, besides Chef Brian, all his old stuff is great, only now he seems to have no idea what actually made his comic fun to read.

@Insomniac: I gotta agree with you. I stopped paying attention to CAD because the constant slapsticking and redundant jokes made things too two dimensional. I love seeing Ethan as a character with a side that can be human, and actually recognize he's a bit of a dolt sometimes. This little arc really got me back into the strip. Garnered a lot of respect for the characters and their creator as well.

Dramedies can be just as much fun as a comedy can, :)

Edit: Should also mention that I just don't care for Lila. Not because I'm gay, blah blah blah, but because she's seemed to underdeveloped. Her only purpose in the comic seemed to be to tolerate Ethan's screw ups. She never had a major role, until her recent miscarriage.

I'm actually hoping this is leading to her jettisoning from the strip.

And with that, Fast became my favorite fuzzy.

Personally, I enjoyed all the humor. If that's what you make your comic about, even during it's "Serious moments" then doing something like this is really stupid and dicking about with what made your comic good.

And I'm not opposed to plot based comics, I read this one, but I read CAD for the constant quips and giggles about video games and Ethan's retardation, as do, I think, much of the fanbase.

Unless we know what they're talking about, I think it remains an "inside" thing. :)

I do hope you realize just what you implied about FastChapter, what with him being a furry.
