I saw this last night. I'm mildly impressed. The fighting was great, and Hancock is a great character that is played so well by Will Smith. The script is tight and quick witted but begins to fall down once we learn about

(OMG SPOILERS!!!!!!)

the other one of his kind, who just so happens to be the wife of Hancock's new PR guy. The lead 'bad guy' is hollow and barely has enough screen time to be even remotely interesting in his role. Hancock's back sotry is hinted at, but not really exposed enough to make it actually matter. Turns out he was created (like the others of his kind) with a partner. Why hey were created, and by whom is not mentioned at all.

His 'other half' flips between nutty rampaging women in one scene (calling herself a god) to whining about Hancock having a purpose to protect the innocent in another. Twas a strange conflict and I never quite knew where to place her.

(END OF SPOILERS!!!!!)

Overall though, I did enjoy it. I felt it fell down a bit in the middle and the build up to the end was a bit wobbly but this can almost be over looked by the superb first half.

.....It was awesome. And, the chick didn't actually call herself a god, she said that's something their kind has been called. Also, she only acted crazy because he was calling her crazy and threatening to reveal her to her *is muffled by fanbois* Anywho, I don't think it fell down at any point. It was pretty awesome, and if there was an actual supervillain or two, then there'd be a reason to make a sequal to explain the backstory. As it stands though, no villain means no sequil.

To be fair there was barely a villian in this one let alone a sequel.

Also, Bad FastChapter! Need to be seen on the big screen not on your PC monitor!

Found a working copy! Bit dark but whatever, I just upped the contrast, ^^

Pretty good stuff, though I'd have been disappointed had I seen it in theaters. Yay for being a cheapskate!

This movie was actually worth about $9 to see. It was hillarious especially the highway scene in the beginning. You have to admit his priorities were right, it all went bad when the booze were gone....

Anyhow, being a super hero doesn't equal that there has to be super villains. In fact the best villains don't need powers, they usually have the understanding of what it means to be truly powerful: Never do yourself what someone can do for you, never allow your image to be anything that doesn't serve you purposes, and eliminate you dependency on others while using them to your own ends.

These are the type of villains/characters that move everyone and everything like a piece on a game board and have more depth to them than those that brute, or bully their way through a story.

Personally I think there is sequel potential. Wouldn't be interesting to know that there was a single individual responsible for all those things that happened in Hancock's past... every single time?

I have to agree with Nuff. The first party was really funny but it definitely didn't last through the second half. It all went downhill when the girl was a superhuman too.

Ditto that. Having the wife suddenly become superwoman'd didn't do it for me. There was that great moment when she flung him, and that was about all there was to that great moment.

It was still a good movie - still don't think theater-worthy - but it should have stayed as a "irresponsible-hero-betters-himself" movie and maybe throw in an unsuspecting villain to pay homage to the classics.

lets just say that I got what I expected, not really worth the 8 euro's that a theatre visit costs around my town.

I have to agree with the remarks about the main bad guy, didn't really impress me or was able to relate to him all that much.

I was highly disappointed with the film, I hate to say it but i think it would have been a hundred times better by getting rid of the girl and focus on turning the jerk into a real super hero - throw in a world ending event instead of a "bad guy" and you have a movie.

If you have to have a bad guy- they could have used the story they had for the bad guy to discover the whole "Creator thing" and find a "flaw" or even develops something from the "technology". All of that would have been better.

But the ending was pulled through well - Will Smith makes this worth watching other than for the amazing effects.
