Anyone else here collect swords replica swords knives or anything of the sort? I got a lot of mine from trueswords.com they have some really awesome fantasy swords/anime replicas some of my favorite fantasy picks are.

PS: If you're gonna ask where I posted this here it's because theres no general section and it's kinda related to media since it's got images.

Nobody here likes swords. We have a sword-hate thread to prove it!

(I like spending oodles of money on things that have a practical use, ^^)

I love swords, but I"m sad to say I don't collect the replica's I buy either battle ready swords which is very expensive and why I only have 2.

And of course practice blades which are infinitely cheaper but of a much lesser quality of which I own nearly a dozen, not counting my sets of Katana's.

I will say though that one thing I collect which is cheaper though is Knives.
You move 2 feet in my room with out a knife being accessible weather you know it or not.

I think I started that when I was 14. I took fencing and a bunch of different martial arts as a kid, then I took up knives. I can throw both knives and stars, but I'm of the opinion that stars are impractical and more an exhibition weapon. I prefer throwing knives, long knives, daggers, and short words. My favorite weapon is probably the roman gladius.

I actually wrote a paper once detailing how a human being could effectively kill a lion more easily with a roman gladius than a spear.

See if the spear has a wooden shaft there is a good chance the lion is going to snap the end that you need anyway and then you've lost that reach advantage as well as you means for surviving.

However with the gladius you have no such problem, as long as you walk up and kill the lion. You may think I'm on crack but hear me out. Traditionally the arena beast we're starved, what this means is they were more ferocious and desperate, but didn't have all their speed, strength or stamina. If a person understands this they understand the advantage in the gladius.

With a lion or any other large cat not being %100 it brings their reaction time and speed back into the realm a human can compete with even at close range. Not to mention if you know anything about boxing you know what the disadvantage of reach can be. Once a person gets on the inside you're in trouble. Worse for mr. lion he's going to bear his teeth and fangs at which point you're going to shove your gladius in his mouth and up through his brain before he can wrap those paws around you.

Thats the hat trick timing. Also of note you could make yourself seem bigger make a lot of noise and charge the lion causing it to hesitate while you perform this action to increase the chances of it being effective. Animals are after all reactionary, and driven by the same instincts as humans without the added ability to rationalize.

And here I thought that Fastchapter was just a poor Arabian diplomat who had a sickness of the head and barely spoke English.

I see now, he was kidding!
