I saw this last night, and I have to say I hope to God the rest of you go see this after work on Monday. Then again if you do you may end up losing your job as a result...

Its that serious, this movie was great, and it gave me the warm fuzzies I get when I watch office space at the end of every work week.

Cinematography was well done, acting was spot on, and Morgan Freeman was more badass than I could have possibly anticipated in this movie. They had him saying [censored] I would have never considered coming out of his mouth.

And the level of trash talking in this movie was just epic. It was very entertaining and if you wasted $9.00 plus popcorn and soda on "The Happening" or "The Strangers" go see this movie and make it up to yourself as it is the only movie I've seen this summer worth $9.00 since "Iron Man"or "Kung Fu Panda", and I may just give you "Incredible Hulk" but i really feel like thats only worth a Matinee price despite the fact I "liked" the Incredible Hulk movie, I didn't love it.

I might wait until rental for that one. Just hasn't really gotten my attention with any of the previews, and the backstory feels flimsy from what they've shown.

:P I tear movies like that apart one logical fallacy at a time, and I can't much help it!

Wanted looks good, but like FastChapter said story looks a little weak. But then again, it's not the kind of movie that requires a strong plot, more a visual flare daft OTT action movie kinda film, much like Shoot 'Em Up but with a bigger budjet...

It just looks like Jumper II to me. Sweet graphics, crummy story. In the end I dislike movies that try to hang on only by the visuals.

I can't stress enough that even if you throw out the plot which isn't actually that bad in this movie, the sheer SARCASM of the main character is more than enough to justify this movie. The crap that comes out of this guys mouth, and getting to see "Morgan Freeman" pull a "Samuel L. Jackson"! is priceless!

You're talking to a guy who spends most of his days with his nose in some kind of book. Story is 90% of why I watch movies. No story = no happy me.

I find that there's always a good amount of story, if one looks hard enough, and isn't afraid to make a couple assumptions and conjectures here and there. Like with Jumper. It had a great story, it was just kinda hard to see, and took a little imagination.

But there's a problem when you introduce a piece of information without justifying it. That's one big problem I have with movies. So much is cut out that you have to fill it in on your own. That's not my job as a viewer - that's the filmmaker's job. If somebody was too lazy or blind enough to cut out critical aspects of the story, they did their job wrong and it isn't a quality product.

Sorry, I get really mulish when this sort of thing comes up. It's the same to me as if I were to go to McDonald's and buy a burger, but they forget the meat. I don't want to pretend what the meat might have tasted like. I should have had it to begin with.

Personally I feel that may be a bit harsh. But that is not to say I don't understand exactly what your saying, or to say you aren't justified in saying so. I can think of several films that managed to tell and convey a story well despite limitations, even films where technology was not as readily available as it is today. As well as short films done by independents that did not lack the ability to visually convey a story that didn't leave us guessing or wondering why something happened.

But on the other hand, in modern cinema you have to do all that and manage to accommedate all the product placement of the sponsors and advertisers. Meet the standards of the AMFA and FCC, try not insight a riot or anger various political groups or religions, apease the ego's of the actors, and not drive your production staff batty trying to accomplish in physical equivalents, what was originally completely unhindered in your imagination.

Which is why when people ask me why I prefer cartoons or anime, to real actors, I excuse it by saying because I always wanted to be a cartoonist. The reality is that I understand the preference of a medium where what you can do is only limited by what you or someone else can write or draw.

There's no issue of what physically possible or how expensive it will be to create an illusion or effect, or any risk to any living person on animal involved. If you wanted to you and a few friends with reasonable ego's and a genuine love for the production could do all the voice acting yourselves and keep things simple.

A good example of this is "Voices of a Distant Star". But I digress because I just got into a whole lot of musing about cinematography and animation when I'm supposed to be defending "WANTED".

The story is actually quite good. The trailers underplay that by focousing on Angelena's gorgeous body, and the action sequences and effects.

The acting performances in this movie where incredible. If you enjoyed "Fight Club" and plot that drove that, then you should really enjoy this movie. And don't tell me "Fight Club" didn't have a good story behind it.
