Okay, no lie, I've been wondering about this for weeks... What's with all the avatars with rainbow hats? Did I miss some sort of gay-pride memo?

Sorry. It's actually been mentioned in the comic thread too, but this way maybe everybody will be set straight?

They're the result of the recent Supreme Court ruling in California that legalized gay marriage in the state. The hats started to appear in the thread discussing that on the Ranting Board, specifically starting with Kinuki at the last post on the second page. It didn't take long to explode until nearly everyone commenting in the thread either was wearing a hat, or at least had made comment on them.

So you could say that the hats commemorate the decision, generally expressing support for it. Though mine's because I can't refuse anyone anything, apparently, and I'd hate for Kinuki to have wasted the effort in adding the darn thing.

BAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! The irony!

It's kind of weird for me to be coming back to the forum only to see everyone with technicolor hats that remind me of that whole 'FABULOUS!' episode.

I'd wear one, but it'd make my avy look like an idiot. Maybe the collar around his neck would do...
