So, the Penny arcade game comes out today. I might go pick it up later, but I'm a little poor at the moment.

So... Any thoughts on the game?

I am so incredibly excited for the game, I am unable to describe it properly. That's about it, until I have a chance to play it, perhaps later tonight, but almost certainly over the holiday weekend.

It is good. There is less adventure game to it than I was hoping for, but it's otherwise very good. The combat system is reminiscient of Final Fantasy (with the timer thing before you can do actions), but the way it's done and how your characters can interact with each other makes it less of a drag than it is in FF much of the time. The 3D models for your character are really so-so, but when you see them rendered in the 2D scenes, they are ridiculously full of awesome; and more than make up for the terrible choice in shoes. I wish there was a better color picker. (It apparently didn't occur to the game designers that maybe some of us want to have gray or black in some part of our outfits, like maybe the boots? I've got my bright red playschool golashes that I'm finally starting to get used to, but man, they look silly.) The humor is very much Penny-Arcade. I haven't beaten it, but so far, it's pretty spectacular.

$20 bucks American? I think the exchange rate is so sucky that 10 Euros would be worth about 20 USD. Then again, I don't know. All I do know is that a Euro is worth more than a dollar. Quite a bit more. The exchange rate last year was like a buck fidy.

On topic: Might check it out. I dunno. Bit strapped for cash...

That's about right. Last I checked, $1 USD = .5 EUR.

I'm pretty sure oil is worth more than your paper money.

Well, I did not manage to find all of the hidden artwork on the first time through (I think I was missing four out of the twelve), and I doubt I got all the music either. However, the game was excellent. The dialogue was simply fantastic, and, while I could complain that the game was much too easy, it's very difficult to complain about a game when you get to kill a dark god using a rake, modeled after the battle rakes of the Gardenor and powered by an evil soul.

This game must be even better than what I have dreamed of. How glorious, to weild such a powerful rake.
