"Phantom Edge to Alpha Zero Zero One, Fang you there, over"
I leaned forward and punched up the com again. "THis is Alpha Blue Zero Zero One, Phoenix here, the ping ready? Over."
"That it is sir, what are your orders? Over?"
"Fire when ready, then pull out of the shadows and do a full sensor sweep, radio in with the results. At that time I'll either order an attack or a retreat, if attack provide supportive fire, if retreat lead the way and we'll cover you. Over."
"Firing, over."
Instantly my hud picked up the missle launched from the Edge. It fired straight out for several hundred meters before curving as if to fly about the moon we were hiding behind. Moments later it suddenly split into two and shot off in opposiate directions about the moon, leaving a trail of vaporus material. On the other side of the moon the spectre ship picked it up but didn't respond otherwise than to do a sensor sweep, now that was a mistake. The two halves of the missle collided on the opposiate side of the moon, exploding and igniteing the vaporous trail, leaving a glowing band about the moon. Seconds passed before suddenly the band burst outward in a shockwave of energy and emp.
Emps were no longer an affective weapon against human tech, but while it did not disable spectre ships it played hell with their cloaking. A moment later the edge reported back, "The figates still there but we also got what appear to be two scout ships, over."
"Phantom, move in to a support position, deploy defensive barrage, keep your stealth systems engaged, we'll vent out once the boogies are destroyed, Squadron Red, you move to the closest scout, eliminate it, Green, same with the second scout. Yellow, fly cover and deactivate your stealth. Red you're with me, we are to disable, if we can I want this one for study, we'll have to move quick and nock out the detonator. Everyone, projectiles till the hull is breached enough to fire through with energ weapons, flash indicators, over."
My hud flashed four lights at the top, one red, one yellow, one green, one blue, and one white, indicating all were ready, "Move in and attack."
