um, i'm not sure how many of you know this video but due to the language barrier here, i don't expect alot of people to know this video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=sePwvIyzMp4

it's in hokkien. and in singlish(super broken english used in singapore).

watch this two guys try to order pork at a halal store and irritate the hell out of the malay storeowner.

"pok" is pork.
halal means no contact with anything pig.
deosn't matter if you can't tell what they are ordering.
at the last part, "zao zao zao" is run run run.
laugh your heart out if you can.

I'm not so sure the language-barrier would be much of a problem what with the speech bubbles in the video. I found it rather laugh-out-loud funny.

And in all honesty, with the butchering of English some people around here manage to speak in, one would assume they can understand it as well.

(Ba-zing!)

Ah, there's something I can identify with. I know those Chinese voices pretty well by now. It's not the first time they've done something like this.

About the Singlish. EVERYONE uses it here. Almost everyone, anyway. It's a lazy way of talking coupled with a mixture of Chinese grammar and other stuff. And it's all over the Singaporean forums, which is another reason why I stick around here. Not that I hate it, since I use it too. It's just painful to read.

Thanks to hellsingman and chaoseye for the pic.

So... What about you? Are you familiar with Singapore, or do you live there as well? [Maybe she was being sarcastic about me. Who knows?]
