I haven't really followed the series very closely but the most recent iteration was freakin awesome

DMC 3 was quite difficult, but very fun. I haven't had a chance to play 4 yet, but I hear it's promising. I have 2 sitting in it's case, but I just never took it out.

I've played every DMC game to date (yes, even that sorry excuse for a game DMC2) and I am currently enjoying the heck outta part 4. Finished the game on all difficulties except for Hell or Hell and beat bloody palace with both Nero and Dante.

Surprisingly, I've been enjoying playing as Nero far more than as Dante, which is weird since he is the same as in DMC3 and I loved playing as him in that. Maybe it's just the newness of the whole Devil Bringer thing (and the fact that he actually has a good charge shot), but Nero has been getting the majority of my attention so far. I love the exceed function in DMC4, once you learn how to instant-rev the game becomes so much more fun.

Also, I would hardly call DMC a button masher (alright, maybe 2 was, but I don't count that). Half of the fun of the game is coming up with new combos and looking good doing it.

My cousin bought a 360 just for DMC4. For me, consoles are a no go. And Japanese demon hunter games are a no go too.

i just dont like the fact that it was such a button masher when ever you were in trouble all you had to do is slam your thumb down although this is just what i found

Maybe on the lower difficulties button mashing might have worked, but on DMD I can tell you that it would get you killed in short order. Unless you want to use a metric ***-ton of healing items, you need to learn to dodge and have a strategy for approaching more difficult enemies like Blitzes and Fausts, when those things are DT'd they pack a punch.

Sure, you can play some of the easier parts like a button masher (probably intentional imo, more forgiving to more casual gamers), but you won't be S-ranking anything anytime soon. So, imo DMC is not a button masher if one actually coordinates their attacks.

p.s. I might be a little biased because I love the DMC series (though not as big a fan as I am of the NG series, omg ninjas!) and I am the kind of guy that strives to attain the highest score possible on a given mode/mission.

Edit: Anyone who likes (or hates) DMC might enjoy this
