My friend plays this game. He lets me access it and play when he's not around.

He just restarted, so his character isn't worth posting- and I won't on his behalf anyways.

I had an account for a month. Deactivated it. Then reactivated it for a week. then deactivated it again. I can't get into the game- after WoW, I find it too monotonous:

Kill critter. (Ctrl;H), wait 2 minutes, kill something, repeat.

I don't feel essential to the story line enough, personally... But the graphics were crazy.

I'm gonna get a job soon for 10$ an hour, working at home for my pops. I might pick it up again, but I want to know if anything changes at later levels.
More quests? More relevance to the game? PLEASE tell me something to play it for- I WANT to play it, but I don't want to pay for it if it's "Boring" to me the whole way through. :(

well, at later levels you get to more storylines and types of fights. its the opposite for me and WoW with you and FFXI. i played FFXI first, and now i find WoW boring

[almost year long de-poof] So, a semi-hypothetical.

I've finally landed a job that would give me the free money to finally get a computer worth two s***s, and thusly able to play this at home.

Anyone willing to take on a person who loves to play WHM onto their LS and thusly server? (A little start up capital would be awesome too. :P )


Edit: Right, so thanks to a couple folks on Allakhazam, I'll be on Midgardsormer, hopefully sometime next month. Depends how long it takes my computer to arrive.

Been playing FFXI on Quetzalcoatl server since NA release, but having a life prevents me from hitting lvl 75 any time soon. Highest lvl is 64 so far :)

I used to play FFXI. After a long hiatus, I came back, and jeez, everything had changed. I think the saddest realization of that was when I got to the Dunes, and no one was there. That literally almost made me want to cry, because I remember how the Dunes used to be, not long after the game first launched.

I gave up not long after, since I only knew one person that still played on that server.

I'm with a midcore end-game LS that does events several days a week (Limbus, Dynamis, Sky, rarely Sea). Potential merger with another LS soon so we can try out Einherjar, kill Dynamis Lord, and go for the 3 Kings (although I'm not too thrilled on camping the Kings).

Ok, I just bought FFXI, the vana'diel collection. I'm going to go on the free trial for a bit, and pay if I like it. Make me like it. What server should I start on? What class/race do you guys recommend I start with? Does it really have the FFIX card game?

Server is up to you but i'd look up to find which is most full, races is again up to you but if your a mage person+can handle height go taru, if your a super beat'em up guy go elvaan or galka

i'd play every job a lil bit or atleast look them up to see which suits you best :)
