Yeah, yeah, it's war out there people.

I bought An Xbox 360 (Elite baby!) because the online multiplayer blew me away. Playing with other people way some where else was the coolest thing ever. It's not that i regret it...it's just that the 360 has a lot of shooters....while the Wii looks like it's getting all the fun non-shooter stuff....

You know, I have a 360, and I've played all the next gen systems, but my favorite is still the PS2. I'm a huge RPG fan, and there are tons on the PS2 (I dare say more than on all other systems combined). Even with The Orange Box, Bioshock, and Halo, I still find myself playing my PS2 more than my 360.

PS2. End of story.

There is no war. It's a massacre and the one that's doing it is the Wii.

I know for saying this I will be shot, stabbed, crucified, and burned. Anyways PS# pwns all, hands down. I know what all of you are thinking. "Oh, yeah f-ing right it's a waste of money," or "There are no good games on it..." or "Viva la PS3."
The price is so high because of the actual capabilites of it. They have not been fully proven because we have had noobish companies spammnig games for it in the beginning just for profit. Only to find they spend more money making the games on PS3 and this rises higher then their actual revenue and end up losing money anyways. Some companies realize the only way to make a good game on it is to spend time on one. Look at assassin's creed, or Resistance.
When the PS3's release the high price caused less people to buy it and the demand over supply. I think. SO with there being less PS3 consoles out there, these companies realized even if they market a game on it there would be less profit because of the shortage. Which is why we see all of the multi console games. i.e. Assassins Creed. Even though the PS3 ver is loads better.
So with there being less games out the amount of people who will actually buy them will gradually decrease and the companies whoe make the games will make less for it. Creating a never ending cycle pretty much putting the PS3 shame. I know, but the PS3 still kicks @ss.
Given the newly and soon released games Assassins Creed, Ratchet and Clank, and Little big world. They may be enough to help this dying console. However there is also the fact that long awaited Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be coming out February unless delayed. Being an anomoly because the profits it will make will be great. Will put both the PS3 and 360 to shame. I predict this release will be greater then that of Halo 3.
I shall call all of this the PS3 theory.
So i guess in the end Wii will come out on top.

Have a ps2, ps3, and a 360 in my household. Have messed around with the wii a bit at a buddies place, all honesty all of them have their perks, but I like my plastations. No particular reason other than all my favorite games are on the ps3 (yeah sure their on the 360 too but I can't play my ps2 games on a 360 now can I?) so I tend to stick with that. Bout the only time I touch the 360 is to play halo 3, and only the campaign at that, folks tend to annoy me on live (not sayin' all live players are annoying I just seem to find em consistently).

Really I think all the systems are great Wii for its originality xbox for its shooters and the PS3 for everything epic (heavenly swordish)

however when it all boils down the Wii is on top

He has a a pretty good point, even if the wii doesn't have the best games, they require a bit more involvement. Still I stick with the PS3 because I have always been and always will be a Playstation fan. i have pretty much stated above what isn't good about it, but its positives out weigh the negatives.

The PS3 is technically superior to the other consoles, but lacks an abundance of great games. However, between Killzone 2, MGS4, MGO, both Final Fantasy XIII's, Haze, and an inevitable R:FoM sequel, The PS3 has the brightest future, game-wise.
The Wii is innovative and fun, but it also comes short on great games. I've seen some impressive things that can be done with the motion sensing (perspective, anyone?), though I feel they would be served better on the PS3, simply because of the superior hardware.
The X360 is the least impressive of the three, having nothing except a greater selection of games (for the moment), and perhaps a "better" network (that you have to pay for if you want to actually play games).

So, my breakdown is this:
PS3 -> Best console if you actually want to play games (Also has likely the greatest staying power of the three).
Wii -> Great console for things like parties, but if motion sensing is adopted by either of the other consoles, they lose their edge.
Xbox 360 -> Acceptable, but any good game is either multi-console, or will come to Windows eventually. Not worth it's price when you figure in the cost of online.

I do believe PS3 will have free online capabilities correct? With Home it should be even more innovative. A game like little big world is a great thing to play too since the levels you play on will be completely customizable with updates every so often. You have a game like Assassin's Creed which is a more non-linear game and being to travel pretty much anywhere. Sure the 360 has it, but it is a lot better on the parent console. I may repeating myself, but I agree with Dove, it may have a chance in the future.

Lol, well the disks are scratched much easier then other cds. With people handle the stuff they own I don't think they are ready for such a thing. Sure you can store like 6x the amount of data. I am sure we will be using them a bit more going into 2010.

Well, that's a given. We don't need to mention that since it's so obvious.
Also, I forgot to mention that the 360 scratches disks easily. I moved my 360 about two inches and it scratched my disk. Grrr! Why can't we go back to good old cartridges, hmm? I mean, we've got Tb thumb-drives but we're still using CDs? CDs are so analog. And less than reliable, to boot.

Cartridges are so bad. I guess a way you could have a cartridge though is to put a cd in one and the thing reads the cd and you just insert it like so. Lol anyways I don't mind cd's We will have them a for a long time because they will be so hard to intregrate into the system.

They're all good at their specific roles:

Wii - For casual gamers and parties...

PS3 - For gamers who like to spend lots of time playing (time-consuming war games, etc), and for those who "hope for the future"...

360 - For gamers who prefer team-play and a wide variety of titles (at least for now)...

It just depends on what you're looking for.
