GREETINGS!!

Questions about the Basitins always pop in the back of my head whenever I think of twokinds. I tried to go back into old threads to look for answers, but sometimes I just come out more confused. I decided to make this thread for myself and for anyone else that finds the Basitins the most cursious out of all the races in twokinds. Some may have already been answered, the comic may soon answer some, and some questions we will might never find out the answer. Either way it might be fun to hear somelese's ideas or questions.

The questions can be anything about basitins. Some examples are "How much influence do female Basitins have in the military?" "Can females become generals?" "Do Basitins use any other weapons beside swords, spears, and knives?" "Do they use bows and arrows, or crossbows?" "How does there law system dealing with crime and punishment work?"
Anyway, one can answer those, create a new one, etc.

Though...these is one question I have been bothering kind of recently.

"How would Basitins kiss? Would they kiss like humans, keidran, or in a different fashion? Do they even kiss at all?

Probably not, seeing how ultra conservative they are. Might be done, but not considered something you could talk about.

I agree with Fatal here. Thier laws just seem to be strict around everything.

I agree that they would not kiss in public, but what about in private? What about when all the women go through their cycles?
Oh...actaully that kind of brings up another question I have. I feel really stupid for asking this, I know that the term "cycles" that Keith uses is when female Basitins are able to bear children, but does that mean they go through heat like female keidran?

Baistlins seem the type to do controlled breeding, so perhaps it is a certain time of ovulation that makes it easier to guarantee a successful (or unsuccessful, depending on the male Baistlin) night with a lady?

Baistlins seem to have a face that doesn't protrude too much compared to Wolf Kiedran, maybe lesser or a tad bit more than Tiger Kiedran. I'd say it depends on which is right. If less than Tiger Kiedran, likely human. If more, likely Kiedran, though maybe with Human-like possible?

I'd hope Baistlins use something other then close-combat weapons. Otherwise, they'd lose every siege on the offensive due to lack of ability to do jack until reaching the wall. Arrows are also a must for normal hunting (If intending to bring down game quickly and without much time), let alone on an island which seems to be a miniature Catachan outside the cities. Crossbows I'd assume would also be within their power. Being unable to get into contact with magic, their warfare advances would soley be on "How do I make a better killing device".

Baistlin females also seem capable of being guards, which with the discipline shown for them seems to suggest that they'd at least have SOME within the military itself. Perhaps not as many as a modern 1st world military (Due to the age ol' Upper-Body strength superiority in most humanoid males over most humanoid females), though some none the less. Infact, wouldn't be surprised if most of the archers were women. Strength matters a whole lot less when handling a crossbow than it does when lugging around full battle armor, a weapon, and your survival kit (If they have such).

This reminds me a lot of China. Militaristic background, limited offspring, honor codes, etc.

I'm not sure about that. Most farming families in China would have wanted more sons for free labor in the fields and to carry on names. Only girls were frequently killed.

The population laws are even now very strict in China. In most (but not all) places, you face significant fines for having more than two children. In a few provinces, however, the population controls were too effective, and parents will actually receive bonus stipends for their third child, at least from what I've heard.

Hah, sounds like Singapore. Government's 'two child only' policies worked too well, so now we're facing a huge shortage of children.
