I came up with mine through my personal habbits. I stay up very late, sometimes all night and for several days in a row, thus the name Insomniac.

All but one of my usernames is just a fictional character.

For generating names, though, I just tend to combine other names / words / latin.

Mine is a combination of my given name and surname, Grímur Zimsen. To all you stalkers out there: Go ahead, stalk me. I won't pay your flight ticket, though. :P

Mine should be obvious. :P I'm still a big fan of the game. I used to use this username for a lot of things, but lately I've been using my furry nickname for things instead. (Slade or SladeDoobiedog)

well Kiraeden I made up, although it may have had some outside influence that I wasn't really thinking about (it's been suggested that it came from Keidran, since this is the first place i opted to start using that name.)

I have had other user names though, and usually they're based off games/books.

mine came from 3 places 1: my mother mnaiden name Mclachlan 2: leon was my first furry character i still use him, and my avatar has almost always been a picture of him and 3: the black came from the first real fur pattern i used for leon (black and white).

I just took some letters from my first and surname, then added a K.
The end. *bows*

I honestly have no idea. I was just in calc class one day...and bam! I come up with some crazy stuff when I'm bored.

EDIT:

I finally shortened my name to Ryusen (as opposed to Kuuzuryusen). This is the character name I use for games and whatnot. I still have no idea where it came from, or even if I made it up.

It doesn't quite come under 'game', but, Particle Ghost is a track name on the Half-Life 2 soundtrack.

For those of you who don't own the HL2 soundtrack, the tune in question plays during your first encounter with Combine snipers, as soon as you come out of the Ravenholm mines.

Well, Vay is an abbreviation from Vaenier.

Vaenier started out as Nayru from Zelda, but i wanted something original, so I started looking at silebles to use. I liked the AY sound, so changed the N to V. then using a bunch of name generators, looked at other names for ideas until i found some i liked. After playing around with them, i put together, getting vaenier and haven't changed it since.

And that is the long evolution of my name

My username is the name of my self character, Arroyo the lion. The river part was there to make my name a bit longer : P

I also go under the name Gamebird. Don't ask. >>;

Fine, then my assumption immediately goes to you being a bird hunted for game.

Now, where'd I place my shotgun...
