Not totally sure, but oh well, I guess the mods will move it if I'm wrong.
Anyways! Game for ranting- FEAR, Extraction Point.
*Spoiler Warning.*
Okay, so I played through the original FEAR game, thought it was pretty cool, so I went ahead and picked up the expansion pack. My first complaint is that this game is very, very short. It shouldn't take more than six hours to beat. Secondly, anyone who's played FEAR knows it ends with alot of loose ends to be tied, and they think, "Oh, look, this expansion pack picks up from that. I bet it'll explain everything!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. Everything is actually even more muddled. For example, you killed Paxton near the end of the original FEAR, right? Well, he's come back, apparantly a ghost now, and starts up the Replica soldiers again.
Figures. Anyways, fight scenes are longer, as are those crazy hallucination scenes we knew and loved. However, the plot progresses at null speed. As you might have guessed from the cover, the whole point is to get out of the city (For those of you who remember the FEAR ending, your chopper crashed) You have some friends with you, and, since it's a horror-based game, they all die. Great! So, nearing the end, you have one last HUGE trip ride, which is apparently a good thing, since all the crazy blood on the walls and ceilings disappears, and triumphant music plays.
Oh, don't be fooled. Right after that, you see the chopper, you get communications with the good guys again, and you're like, "Freaking yah!" Oh, bad news, Fettel's there with a squad of bad guys, and don't bother shooting him, he does that disappearing thing again. You kill the bad guys, make a beeline for the chopper, BOOM, it explodes.
Last thing is Fettel talking about the war in his dreams, fire sweeping the earth, bodies on the streets, cities turned to ash. Roll credits.
So, basically, no closure, no understanding of anything that happened, which is, frankly, 75% of the reason I got Extraction Point in the first place.
