The slave and his anthro walked all the way into the building, and Desmond lost sight of them.

Suddenly, things got a lot more chaotic, and perfect for being taken advantage of. A human was springing down the road. Police were obviously behind him. He darted into the apartment. He hoped the police would stand there looking for him, where he would pick them off.

'Maybe it'd be know as the 9:17 pigeon shoot in the future,' Desmond joked with him self. At the last second, common sense got the better of him, and he lowered the gun. One unplanned shot could hit some slave. He didn't want that to happen. 'Later,' he decided. Planned strikes always ended better. He slipped the cover over, and he went back to peering out the crack in the opening.

((I'll try to make sure that my posts interact correctly from now on. Sorry if there is any confusion on my part.))

Chrome walks towards his apartment complex. He walks inside and shakes his fur out. He looks around just in time to see the Human he saw with the group of Anthros go up an elevator with his apparent new master. He goes over to the desk and reaches up to ring the bell. He gets his key and heads toward the stairs. He heads down from there. There isn't an elevator going down. He reaches his room and opens the door. He goes in and locks the door behind him. He turns on the TV and starts thinking about the Human he keeps seeing.

Marcus let out a deep breath of relief when he realized his master wasn't upset. Giving another bow to the Anthro couple, Marcus followed his master to the elevator. At that moment, the door bell could be heard jingling, and Marcus turned slightly to see who had entered. It was a harried looking man, wet and with a bloodied shoulder. Marcus was surprised by his appearance, and he wanted to know what was going on, but he quelled his curiousity. As a slave, it wasn't his place to wonder.

Marcus waited to see if his master would do anything about the man.

Lohti hadn't seen the new arrival, and was in the elevator pressing the button for the 3rd floor. Upon reaching the desired floor, he walked down the hallway (hopefully) with Marcus in tow. He found his room (342) and unlocked the door, closing and locking it after they were both inside.

Chrome goes into his bathroom and relizes he doesn't have any toilet paper. He heads out of his apartment and goes back upstairs. He sees a human run in. He dismisses it and pockets his wallet. He walks down some steps and takes a turn. Heading towards the local convinience store. He heads down the sidewalk. Looking around, it's always the same thing. A few slaves on errands, and an Anthro here and there. The anthros running for cover, and the Humans wearing panchos. They are cheap ones, but they work.

Desmond, seeing the running man was somewhere in the building, returned to his position. He was still debating weather or not to attack the police when he noticed that one was walking towards the ally. 'Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap!' Desmond cursed to himself. He picked up, and cocked the gun.

The officer still came closer, unaware of Desmond. Then, almost by accident, Desmond's finger pulled backwards. It was a split second, and a bang came out of the gun. The lead slug was ejected from the gun at amazing speed, and slammed the police anthro in the head. It nearly split his head in half as it smashed through the bone and tissue. Desmond didn't even see the wolf anthro fall, the sewer cap was closed and he was already almost out of the storm drain when the other officers ran towards the ally, which they fired atleast one shot at, as he heard them ricochet off the steal cap.

"Well, the jerk was getting to close, and they were going to kill that other guy, and maybe me, if I didn't killl him. Oh well, another day, another bullet, another dead body. Life goes on," Desmond said to himself, still shaken, and trying to make himself feel better. His shell casing was in his pocket. One of those new heads had a case now.

I kept on slogging through the alley. I was -hungry-. Missing two meals would do that to a well fed half-breed boy. I was wet, and dirty, too. And the rain just seems to have spited me when I though the situation couldn't get worse.
I knew it could get worse, of course. Nearly any storybook in existance could tell you that. I could get chased down by police for soemthing I didn't, do attacked by a human, eaten by some sort of imaginary dragon... like that would happen. The city was pretty crime free... for someone in my neighborhood. I could only hope I was still there, and close to home.
Out of a home again. I hated that the though made me sad. I didn't like the place much anyways, but still... it was good to have a home.
I felt another breakdown coming on, and forced myself to concentrate on something else. 'Mom' had probably come up for an excuse why I was gone. Maybe I 'joined the resistance'. That would be in her style. Going home wasn't a good idea. I could try and find someone who wasn't interested in politics- but then again, politics were big in this City. I could join the resistance- but that was completly out of the question. They'd shoot me on the spot, if I knew anything about them. Which I probably didn't.
I leaned against the wall of the sewer. There was an huge chance that the police wouldn't like finding me...
A human flashed past me, and I heard the clanking of metal. Thugs, or worse! I turned, and my fears were confirmed. Police. I jumped out of my resting position, and sprinted after the human, losing sight of him after reaching the main street. This wasn't my neighboorhood. This wan't my day at all, was it?
I continued to run in whatever direction I guess he had ran. He turned that corner, yup... but now he was gone. I continued running, but was quikly winded. The police were still running, somewhere behind me. I was slowwing down. I came out onto a street. A store up ahead, a line to an apartment- the human was in it- and a displaced manhole. I pulled out my stick, and jumped, hitting belly-first on the slippery street stones, sliding on my soggy fur and riping shirt, holding out the stick. Push off the manhole cover, and I'd fall in... right?

((Edit: Arg, I'm a bit late with this, aren't I. Should I edit?
Also, I need a confirmation on whether it worked or not.))

Marcus followed his new master into the elevator. He was disapointed to note that they hadn't found out what was up with the man in the lobby, but he had no alternative other than to obey.

Marcus stood in the back of the elevator, his arms clasped in front of him, his eyes fixed on a point on the floor. After the small 'ding' announced their arrival at the third floor, the door slid open, and Marcus continued to follow his master until they were inside the room. Marcus looked around, quickly scanning the place as his master locked the door, but when he turned back around, Marcus quickly lowered his head again and waited for instructions.

(OOC: Sorry Lohti. I didn't realize that the group had quite dispersed yet.)

The gunshot from outside startled me. I realized that most likely some other free human had taken a potshot at the pursuers. I brushed myself off a bit, and took a good look at my shoulder. It wasn't too bad, though it had bled some. The Anthro recceptionist looked at me like I was scum. Which I guess I was. I looked around like I was trying to get my bearings, then sighed with frustration. I looked at the ground and spoke softly, "Is this 241 Parkway Avenue?" The receptionist declined to answer. I turned around and walked out, hoping that I would be able to bluff my way past the Patrol. I walked out and noticed a Half-Breed trying to get into a sewer system and several Patrol members near by. I wished the guy that fired luck, but I couldn't take on that many Patrol and avoid capture. I sauntered on by.

I slowly meandered my way down town, trying to appear a slave. I made it about half a block away, and saw more Patrol hurrying towarsd the apartments I had just left. Things weren't going to well for me. I purposely tripped myself and fell to all fours. The ploy worked and I only caught a few kicks as the unit passed. I stayed down, though trying to avoid attention.

Chrome leaves the department store with a plastic bag full of toilet paper. He walks down the other end of the sidewalk to get back, and notices the police running towards him. He walks off the sidewalk to allow them to pass without interference and gets back on. Chrome looked around to see a human laying down submissivly. He walks over to him and looks down.

"You know, most humans wear a poncho in such wet weather. Doesn't your master give you any? A sick slave doesn't do him/her much good. If you come with me, I can get you something to cover you up. The guy who owns the complex I live in has some slaves, so he should have some ponchos." Chrome added as he finished his sentance and waited for an answer.

Desmond stood at the stormdrain-sewer junction quite some ways below ground. His gun was pointed at the tunnel waiting for the police to come down. He had his second clip ready to be fired. He crouched there, gun loaded and ready to fire. A number of other free humans stood by watching. Some picked up rusty knives, two others old handguns, and several with tazers. Most of the ones just ran, but probably ten were there waiting with Desmond. He knew about half of them. They knew just what was happening. It wasn't the first time. The steel cover clanged as someone moved it. The ten humans stood ready, waiting for something to happen, scowls and smiles on their filthy faces.

((Reath Teer: If you're talking about me, you're fine. It'd be a good idea if it works though. Don't expect a friendly welcome in the sewer though. They won't kill you. Much  ))

I rolled over and blinked slowly. It had started raining during the night but the dumpster lid I'd found had kept me - almost- dry. Across the street I watched a human fall over on all fours saw another Anthro approach him and start talking to him. I ignored them and got up. Shoving my gun into my belt with one hand, I slung the worn rifle strap over my shoulder. Picking up a discarded coffee cup I wandered over to the pair, "Hey fella? Got any spare change?" I called once I'd crossed the street.

Chrome looks up from the other human to see another human on the street, asking for change. Chrome takes out some coins and puts them in a little sack. He ties the sack closed with a twisty tie and tosses it over to the Human.

"Is that enough?" Chrome asked. "Sorry, but I don't have much more" he added as he put the rest of his coins in front of the human in front of him. "That should be enough to buy a poncho." Chrome helps the Human up and goes along his way. He walks past an alley and hears something inside. Not quite visible he ventures slightly into the alley. Staying in the light. "Who's back there?" Chrome waits a few seconds and dismisses it. He heads across the street and back into his apartment.

(OOC: John's an Anthro)

I smiled when the other Anthro tossed a small bag of coins, "Thanks a lot, mate." He didn't seem to hear me but muttered somethign about not having anymore while placing some before the human kneeling on the ground. He helped the slave up and walked off. I sat down on the curb near the human and spoke slowly with generous gestures- just to make sure I meant no harm, "Are....You," I pointed at him, "Lost?" I asked. Then I smiled and offered my hand, "I'm John. You?"

Smiling, Lohti bid Marcus to take a seat.

"Listen carefully, because we've a lot to go over and little time to do so in. We leave tomorrow with any other humans I can gather. I've supplies for about a week in a storehouse about two blocks from here, as well as transportation. We should have you in a free city within two weeks, good fortune be with us. You are to call me only by Foxtrot, my moniker. I've got a rifle hidden in the upper compartment of my closet and two handguns hidden under the silverware drawer. Use them if anyone unsatisfactory shows up. Never leave this apartment alone, and never leave it alone. Use the peephole to identify everyone, no exeptions. Ask if I'm with them, if I am not already here. If I am, alert me and I will investigate who has arrived. I can easily transport two more humans, but I doubt I have enough food for more. I'll leave in a few minutes to scout out some more, you'll have to stay here to ensure your safety. I have false tazers and shock collars in case you get into any trouble. I'll be able to act out a scenario to keep you alive. Now, any questions? If not, feel free to relax for a bit..."
