Quote from the website of copyrights :
Quote:
Could I be sued for using somebody else's work? How about quotes or samples?
If you use a copyrighted work without authorization, the owner may be entitled to bring an infringement action against you. There are circumstances under the fair use doctrine where a quote or a sample may be used without permission. However, in cases of doubt, the Copyright Office recommends that permission be obtained.
In the fair use part that's what I saw
Quote:
the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
The only thing you need to remember is that you can't use a copyrighted thing to a commercial use or for something that will profit a school. If the cover for your textbook isn't for money, then you can.
I mean, if every girl in my school had to wait to print (that had a copyright on it) a photo of her idol to put it on their textbook, the people that took that photo would only say "yes", for them to print that photo, all day. Hope I could sort some things out.
