Just got home (1:30am) from a late night movie, we went to see "The Number 23" which stars Jim Carrey. Was a little skeptical at first, haven't seen him in a role that wasn't meant to be totally comedic, but it actually turned out pretty good. Still had it's humor at times but also had serious moments. Alot of twists and turns in the plot that keep you trying to look ahead at where their taking the plot, was pretty good. Was wondering if anyone else had seen it or what they'd thought about it.

Watch the Truman Show. Jim Carrey was in that and it is a fantastic movie. He plays serious roles very well, and its one of my favorite movies.

I've been meaning to watch that one, then I believe he was also in "The Majestic" or something like that, but that one didn't look terribly interesting to me.

I watched it. Wasn't bad really. But I was obsessed with the number 23 way before this movie, so I think Joel "Shoeguy" stole my mind.
=P

Ah, nah the 23 thing has been around a while, my little sister was obsessed for about a year (not creepy obsessed). That was about 6 years ago, she got hooked after reading about it online from various sites I'll have to dig up sometime, some of the folks were just nuts  .

The twist at the end was very good. It ended properly (as it had to end) and even hit the final cliche. I don't think the beginning was quite as strong, but I'm of the opinion it intentionally kept itself distant from the viewer as to not create mass hysteria. To be truly effective, it should have been right there, whispering things about 23 right in the viewer's ear, instead of telling us across the room. But all in all, not bad.

The plot twist was the best, I was so caught up with trying to find "23" during the movie I wasn't thinking ahead to what might be happening. Totally surprised me which is probably what made me enjoy the movie so much, I like a movie that catches me off guard.

Well, I haven't seen it yet, but I do work at a theater, and it really isn't doing that much traffic. I've heard good things about it, but we're only getting about 20 people per show (compared to things like Wild Hog, which are selling out 300+ people a show). I may see it yet though (free tickets for employees!)

The late movies are the best, normally less crowded so you can get a decent seat and it just adds to the fun of seeing a horror/thriller movie when ya leave the theater in the middle of the night. Always fun to try scaring the folks who went with ya  .

I just started recently going to the late-late times *used to go at 9-10 showings*...it's great...I saw Superman...X3...Ghostrider...and now The Number 23 this week. I'm like the only one in my family who goes that late...that's why they think I'm weird...but they don't get the big picture. :P

Usually there's no mlore than 20 people...so we get good seats everytime.
