Surprise of surprises, I actually find the comic before there's a forum topic on it?

Anyway - there's the obligatory quip where Natani gets in the bathroom, but the rest is away from what we'd expected. Keith is definitely NOT the last of the bastins, and there's enough of them that there's some social structure with guards, a general and a king.

The whole 'familiar presence' angle is interesting, too... at first pale, it would suggest that some kind of 'bastin magic' DOES exist, and the obvious subject for it would be Keith... but I also have to be curious about the way both the general and Natani have the grey dead-eye effect going on, too. For that matter, it could apply to ANYONE on the ship with a magical presence about them - Natani, Trace... even Nora? Though which of them the general would refer to as 'my friend' is questionable...

Oh, and on a side note - BASTIN EARS! LOTS OF THEM! XD There will be much unintentional cuteness over the next few days, I suspect...

Bastin king: ... youre staring at my ears, arent you.
Trace: What?
Flora: N-no...! *thinking* .oO(I want to squeeze them!)
Eric: *furiously sketching Bastin women*
Kathrin & Keith: *facepalm*

Mike (elsewhere): I'M NOT LEAVING THIS SHIP! YOU CANT MAKE MEEE! S-SO... MANY... BASTIN...!

-Auryn

(misc edits for typos, additional thoughts, etc - hey, no one else has posted yet!)

[EDIT]
I think it's obvious that the general means Keith... though I suppose he could mean the slaver, though I doubt it. As for the eye thing, that is definetly intreaging. And the extra sensory perseption thing where the general senses a familiar preasence. I am definetly wondering if they have some kind of magic. Also, I recall that keith had plans for Trace. I wonder what that entails...

Aw yeah! At last we get to see some more Basitins. I can't wait to see what the Basitin islands are like. It'll also be interesting to find out how the general was able to sense (probably) Keith. Ooh and I can't wait to see what this strict segregation between the Basitin genders is like. So much new stuff...

Anyone else who thinks the guard's outfit/armor looks awesome? It looks so... elite. :P

edit: As you can see the general has a scar over his blind eye so I'd say it isn't much of a mystery really.

Strict segregation? I do not recall that. It does remind me of this story that had a species called Tenalbi, though. The cities had to be segregated into male and female sides because their pheramones would have made everything complete sexual chaos

You will note that Tom has helpfully included facial scars (looks like a pair of claws did the job) aross the general's eye socket, hoping to forestall any wild speculation on our parts... Not that it's going to help...
I guess this world never invented the eye patch; or they're not as squeamish about scars and damage.

Yay new comic! Finally my 2kinds fix... hee hee hee.

On a side note, Keith only said that Basitins can't use magic. Are psychic abilities a form of magic?

By the way, on the old twokinds site there was a bio of the races and it said that the Basitins look down on Keidrans for their sexual promiscuity because it differed majorly from their strict segregation of the sexes.

I got it from here. Yeah, I know this is outdated info but if memory serves I think the segregation part is supposed to be one of the things which are still valid.

Sexual chaos, eh? That'd be a sight to see.

OOooo! I love the architecture! And the armor! And that sigil! And that gold helmet with the visor!

Fascinating! I wonder of Keidran have innate magical talents - they can't cast spells, but it's the source of their poison and disease resistance, and perhaps a little bit of extra-sensory perception...

We know that he want use him to restore his honor but except that we know nothing. We even not know if this will work. For what we know it Keith could overestimate the value of Trace and be trow away again if not worst. Afterall, he's banished forever and come back without authorization.

Anyway, I wonder why so few human merchant ships visit the basitin's islands. I highly doubt that there are no good trade to make so why they avoid this place? Eric and Trace presence should attract a lot of stare if the common basitin didn't seen a human in years.

Ça risque de mener à des situations intéressantes.

S.P.P.

Tuesday's Comic, sweet :D

Those skies look a little dark, i wonder if its got to do with the toxic stuff on the islands, man i really want to know if that ends up in the story somehow :(

Anywho the general looks awesome with the dark clothes and scared eye, but how does the guard see anything ?, it looks like you wouldn't be able to see much with that helmet

Awesome page, enjoyed reading it. I think that Basitin General looks cool. And the helmet the Soldier's wearing reminds me off something i saw in Final Fantasy tactics, i don't remember though.

Well, to me,

The Gen just screams:
"I framed Keith."

Just the sarcastic like way he says friend.

although Tom likes to be cheeky and add twists....

oh, and Grimz, thanks for using my last name, but the online technical term is "Leet" and yes, the armor is 1337.

Wait a minite, why Mike too. He's a keidran.

I wonder if a filler is him actually being turned into a girl by a bastian... whoa, I predicted a filler. Is that legal?

Online technical term? Ye gods. I've got about fifty different facepalm pictures I'm rather tempted to post right now.

1337 is a generic positive term, used on the internet by two groups of people: those who think it's still the mid-90's, and those mocking the first group. Elite, on the other hand, means a step above the rank and file - very commonly used to describe top-notch troops. And yes, that guard does look pretty elite.
