OK, this may have already been discussed, but this isn't about a specific comic or anything, so I don't know. Is anyone else getting the feeling that that white Keidran who was good friends with Flora (can't remember his name, travelled with them for a while before the whole mask incident) is actually the person who was Grand Templar before Trace? Who has seen all the corruption going on in the Templars and everywhere and wants to change it? Remember, the former Grand Templar was converted to a Keidran by the evil Trace to open the job for him, and because Trace didn't like how they dealt with the Keidrans. Anyone else see this as a possibility, or is there something in the comic which negates that fact that I've missed?

Different gender and fur color... why?

(Edit) Or am I talking about wrong keidran?

...OK, gender I can't argue with, but I thought that she was turned into a white Keidran. I recall white fur, for some reason.

Around the mask incident you can also see the Grand Templar in human form again, with her daughter.

His name was Euchre. So Trace might have gotten to where he was by changing all his superiors into Keidrans? I guess it's a possibility. If you discover a method that works, just keep using it until it fails. That's what I always say anyway. It could also explain why Euchre had so impressive magic abilities at the whole mask incident. You are talking about two different Grand Templars, right?

edit: Nevermind. I guess I misunderstood the first post.

Euchre was Grand Templar? Or did you mean something else?

I thought he was wondering whether Euchre might have originally been a Grand Templar and changed by Trace just like he did to the one before him. Now that I think about it it's a bit far stretched.

Actually, I think Euchre is a mask. He seems to know a lot about their rules of the game.

Besides, Euchre was friends with Flora before the GT was transformed into a keidran anyway. and the Gender thing too.

I've always felt that Euchre seemed pretty calm for all thats been going on. If hes the same one I'm thinking of, didn't he at one point belong to a master? Somewhere in the story there was meantioned that he seemed a lot more calmer about things, even while being owned. I even noticed it when he was talking that he'll die of old age soon. I think theres more behind him than he seems to let on.

(If I was to guess on things, I'd think he was reborn as a Keidran from something else. Or perhaps had a past life.)

Just my two bits

After Euchre parted ways with Flora the last time (after the mask battle), he went to speak with a very old man who indicated that both Euchre and Flora were his slaves at one point (though well-treated slaves).

Euchre is almost certainly more than he appears though. He's aware of the game that's being played and broke the rules to help Trace reclaim Flora from Neutral.

(Not that's he's the only one to do so.)

Good to see I'm not the only one who thought that! (what Aleolus posted)

On my second and third rereads I thought this, but on my fourth I realized the gender problem.

That isn't to say that Euchre isn't mysterious. We've got him, and that brown-haired blue-eyed dude who gave the necklace to Trace to give to Flora that both know much more than they should, enough to even know about the game that's going on. Also, Euchre's old owner seems to know just as much as Euchre does. mysteeeeerious *waggles fingers* [/sluggy freelance reference]
