Twokinds ARCHIVE Forums

well, today tom gave me permission to host a copy of the twokinds archive for use on the forum. we currently have 2 hot-linkable sites.
1. http://2kinds.com/images/*yyyymmdd*.jpg however, this starts on may 23, 2005. no earlier comics are hosted there.
2. http://robbiethe1st.ktserv.com//twokinds/*yyyymmdd*.jpg
this is complete, up to current.

also note that i have set no index page at http://robbiethe1st.ktserv.com/twokinds/ so you can simply view all files, and link to whatever one you wish :)
also, i figured i might as well make an archive of em, so you can get that at http://robbiethe1st.ktserv.com/twokinds ... nds.tar.gz (not up yet)

Good work! However, a number of files seems to be corrupted or something. These are the files I cannot open:

And all the links in the 'other' section don't work.

Probably because most of those were either filler or didnt exist in the first place? After all many of those are days when there originally was some filler- or even no comic at all- you can tell because the ones before them and the ones after them that DO work are the ones that come one right after the other.

And when i tried- all the links in the Other section worked fine...

They work for me too now.

yea, that was my fault probly... it may not have been completely uploaded, or the server needed to update itself or something.
iil be looking through the list. the .png ones should be in the 'other' folder, they are comics that needed resizing in order to become normal size, and as i had it in my own folder, i uploaded it automatically lol

well, it seems FireFTP got stuck in ASCII mode and didn't upload properly. i am currently re-uploading all such files, thanks for testing em for me :)

and new comic is also being uploaded :)

edit: all done! also got the new version of the holiday(12/25/06) comic. i have both versions up there for you. also i deleted the big archive... its files would have been corrupted, later i will make several archives based on the year, so its easier to keep track of :)

These don't exist anymore on comicgenesis server:
'20040721.gif' and all '*.png'

other seem to be corrupted (they have a size>2KO so they exist)on the robbie server BUT exist on the 2K server...
(I just check the list here above)

check what i just posted. they were corrupted. the pngs are mine, cutting the few large images into nice normal sized pieces for whatever reason you might need them in. sure png takes up a but more space when going from jpg, but i didn't want to lose any quality...

and the animated gif of flora jumping/falling and then crashing is gone? aw...

fortunately i save everything when i read through it and like it :D


(p.s. everyone should know, if you post something on the internet it can never be deleted! it will circle haunting you for years... <_< >_> :lol: :wink: )

Oops, au temps pour moi, didn't check the forum just before posting.

I look again for the gif and the archive don't anymore to a '21 july 2004' page and I check directly for the file and it's not there. So thanks it give it to us here.
And also thanks for the archive server you set up.

When I try to go to any of the links in that first post, I get 404 errors. Is this because I use Firefox as my browser? I've noticed that the normal archives on comicgenesis also do not really like Firefox... Do I need to start using IE7 to look at Two Kinds, then? I've got both browsers, it is just I prefer Firefox...

no, it should work fine. i personally am using firefox 2.0.0.1, and it works fine. also yea, the links saying *date* would have a 404 error, as you need to replace it with a date, like 20070101 or something.

should work, and there you can see the complete list of comics, just click on one, then get its url from the address bar. it works fine for me, and if you have any more trouble, just ask me, and iil see what i can do :)
