This has probably come up god knows how many times before, so if this turns up locked I wouldn't be surprised, or argumentative.

But I'm Curious how many Ace Combat fans do we have lurking round the darkened skies around here?
If there are any I would like to hear opinions of the games as well as other thoughts?
And also Ace Combat should be a lot more popular, in general, than it is. It is one of the best games I have ever played.

I think the last Ace Combat game I plalyed was 4. I can't really remember them though. Five looks good, I've kinda been out of the loop lately, is five still the latest one?

Ace Combat 5 in the best of the current ones,
Ace Combat : The Belkan War has also come out (often called 'Zero') but seams more a stop gap measure until the next one, but still worth checking out, It has a two player split screen mode, Its not online but its a start.
That would be cool, 30-odd fighters all going after one another in on piece of sky at the same time!
what do you think?

That would be SO freaking awesome. ...Why does it seem that in over twelve hours, we are the only two people to have posted in this thread?

I have no Idea, maybe more people will show up in time. But here is a slice of Ace Combat greatness I located on YouTube

'The Unsung War' song - it has lyrics, they just don't sing them (there in Latin anyway so they are still unintelligible)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxNKE9UeRCE

'Ace Combat Zero Air show' - a video montage of the chap who made this fling various planes in vs. mode, most often flying two at the same time! That must take Allot of practice. The first song is a vs. stage BGM track, not very good, the second is the song called 'Zero', which is really good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tn222HAiPwQ

'Ace Combat 5 the Unsung Squadron Leader' - another montage of flybys and cut scenes from AC5 with the song 'Blurry' as BGM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4cntv0knEo

If anyone finds the song 'The Journey Home' on YouTube or anywhere else please tell me as searching for it is driving me crazy.

I'm actually kindof surprised at how many aviation and military enthusiats this forum attacts. So yeah, I'm a bit of an Ace Combat fan. It serves the purpose of an arcadey flight game well. Definitely not a sim.

Yea, it keeps just enough realistic elements to make it credible, but not too many to Detract from the ability just to pick it up and play it without having to be seriously switched on and alert, like you have to be if you use an ultra-realistic sim.

Ace Combat Zero, I think your referring to the ADF-01 Morgan from the last mission 'Zero'

God, Ace Combat... last one I played involved a big cannon used for destrying meteors knocking you out of the sky if you flew above a certain altittude. That was a good while ago. Oh, and at the end you had to fly inside the thing and destroy it's weak points. Very unrealistic but very Star Wars. XD
I was thinking about getting Zero G Fighters for the Xbox 360 when it goes for dirt cheap. Online multi-player? Hells yes. :)

Cruik fortress, well the standard Low and Fast runs really, remember to give your wingmen free engagement as well (they are bloody effective). Make sure you choose a good all round plane but that preferably has air to ground special weapons (SOD, LAGM, XAGM, et al). Don’t use an Air to Ground plane like the A-10 it will me minced on the next operation.

(F/B - 22 is good for this if you have it, the SOD missiles make mince meat of the emplacements and it is fairly manoeuvrable, you will need the craft to be manoeuvrable and fast for the next mission '8492', you don't get to change crafts as this takes place on your way back to Sand Island)

I just finished owning Ace Combat 5. Played for almost 24 straight hours. Good ending. that kid in Nagase's lap, was that her daughter or something? Who's the father? Is it Blaze, or is it perhaps Barttlet?
