Woot. Diablo.

Games shouldn't be about graphics or storyline now. I find the only games that need storyline are the FF series.

I personally like the original Super Mario Bros (1-3), the new ones suck. And all the Zelda's up to Majora's Mask, after that, they also began to suck.

Now that I think of it, FF7 is widely considered the greatest game ever made, and it's graphics suck... but I guess the storyline makes up for that one.

Did anyone play Marathon? Great game. Has a subtle and interesting storyline. What's not to like about a rampant and selfish AI?

Let's see, old games I liked. DOOM. I will never stop <3ing DOOM. Oooh, and half-life. I think that could be considered a really old game now; heck, it's been eight years since it's release. Then of course there's the original Mario games, those rock hard. Oh, and Super Mario RPG. One of the best games EVAR. If you like RPG's and haven't played SMRPG, you need to. NOW. I sincerely hope Nintendo has the intelligence to port SMRPG to the GBA or DS.

Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Dragon Warrior 1-4, Breath of Fire 1 and 2, The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang, Actraiser, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia... I could go on and on. The NES, SNES, Genesis, and early PSX had the greatest games on 'em. The best were on NES and SNES of course.

Not much storyline to it, but Snowboard Kids was one of the better ones. As was 1080.
Vigilate 8 and Vigilate 8: 2nd Offense where a rip off of Twisted Metal but I have to say calling UFO's down via sattelite dish to bash your enemies aboud was quite fun.
Ocarina of Time was and I think still is the best Zelda game to ever exist.
Ill think of more soon.

And hey, didnt the first half-life come out in the late 90's?

The original Legend of Zelda for the NES, A Link to the Past, Sonic 2, Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia (I am still playing this) not to mention the old castlevania games. (Except CV2, which sucks [censored])

My favourite old game would have to be Chrono Trigger or Super Mario RPG. They're both fine examples of what their genre can accomplish.

-cheers
