Name and Rank: 2nd Lieutenant Mattew Jackson
Code Name: Spade
Recruit or Transfer: Transfer from the ONI's black ops unit
Species/Race: Human, Black
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Physical Description: Spade is like most other Terra Novan, fit and able. He is tough and strong. The conditioning brought on by the ONI Black Ops training only increased this attributes. His right cheek is tattooed with a spade, hence his nickname. A barbed wire tattoo encircles his right forearm. His Left ear is pierced against regulations
Background: Lieutenant Jackson served in the special operations division of ONI since the age of 16. His particular unit was used in breaching and boarding enemy ships, as well as assaulting enemy bases. To aid in this the unit has powered armor (Think starcraft, and I'll post a pic). The armour has a pharmacy system which can inject painkillers, adrenal stimulators, and other life saving drugs into the user. Despite its bulkiness, Jackson is something of an artist in it. He was originally enlisted, but after a particularily nasty action boarding a pirate ship, he was entered into the officer program. He has not forgotten what it is like to be enlisted and the squad he was assigned to is willing to die for him. He has been transfered to Mars, as ONI hopes the presence of Special Operations soldiers will encourage the ordinary fighting man.
Preferred weapons: 8mm C-14 “HGR” Heavy Gauss Rifle:
The C-14 Gauss Rifle fires 8mm metal “spikes” at hypersonic speeds. This is the standard issue ONI Assault Team primary firearm. The rounds are designed to provide maximum penetration against all armor types. This assault weapon arose from an attempt to develop a miniaturized (infantry-scale) version of larger solid-munitions-firing, electromagnetic-impulse weapons. This eliminates the need for a chemical propellant found in most infantry -grade weapons. It was also decided that the regular military and Militia would require a weapon with a more accurate three-round burst found with traditional ammunition. The designers decided that a Gauss-type coil gun would fulfill this necessity, as the weapon’s rate of fire was so high that recoil would only be a factor after all three rounds had been fired; also, no case has to be ejected, which allowed for a greater rate of fire. Caseless ammunition was not considered, as the propellant was notoriously unable to hold up under the stress of adverse weather or combat situations. The HGR uses the roller-locked breech mechanism.
He has four hundred round clips in addition to the one in his gun. He has a DE .75 cal handgun. It carries a mere five rounds, but can more or less eliminate hostiles in a shot. He carries a spare clip for this gun. HE also has a standard issue combat knife for when things get dicey.
(Yeha I know I got a few extra clips, but he's got power armour!)
Combat Area of Expertise: Assaulting enemy postions, stealth assaults, spec ops
Specific Vehicle: none
